Judy was an artist, and had the type of personality everyone loved. She loved her cats and watching NASCAR. She raced Mini Cup Cars, and worked alongside Sonny building race cars. She is survived by her father, Emory E. Ronk (Dottie), of North Carolina; sister, Lynn Ronk, of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Shirley Willis (Robert), of Goodview; stepfather-in-law, William "Bill" Metz, of Roanoke, nieces, Ashley Underwood (Jason), Kathryn Willis; nephews, Jason Walters (Katie), Greg Willis; great-nieces and nephews, Alivea Greenway, Owen Walters, Aiden Underwood, Asher Underwood, Evie Walters; special cousin, Tom Lyon; and other family members and friends. A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Boones Mill Baptist Church. Pastor William I. Ronk will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite animal charity. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. He was a master mechanic; loved racing and was a jack of all trades and master of all. There wasn't anything he couldn't dream up, build or make with his hands and sharp mind. He built the fastest S.B. Ford in a '55 T-bird owned by his good friend, Dave Craig, as his last project. He will be sadly missed by all he knew, especially his wife. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Boones Mill Baptist Church, where he was baptized and gave his life and soul to God our Savior, 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2010, with Dr. Richard Harrell Sr. and Ronnie Janney officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Oakey's South Chapel. The family requests donations are made to the family, a favorite charity, or the SPCA. He has 16 great-grandchildren. Harold had a very close relationship with his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Ogretta Bayer.
