Survivors also include a son, Robert Lay Jr., of Ridgeway; a daughter, Kendra Lay of Kenton; three sisters, Alice M. Hankins of Findlay, Mildred L. Mathewson of Rockford and Donna M. Hayes of Mount Victory; and a brother, Mark R. Lay of Mount Victory. He was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother, Paul Lay. Also surviving besides his loving wife of 29 years are two daughters, Laska Dawn Via of Manassas; Amy Lynn Via and her fiancé Thomas Samuel Robinson also of Manassas; one sister, Kathy Pederson and her husband Steve of Minnesota; and one brother, Dennis Via and his wife Corrine of Front Royal. James Wilton Ritenour Jr. James Wilton Ritenour, Jr., 61, of Bealeton, Virginia, died on Monday, November 21, 2016 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Born on January 31, 1955, he was the son of Elva and James Wilton Ritenour, Sr. of Nokesville, VA. He was preceded in death by his father. James was a 1973 graduate of Brentsville District High School in Nokesville, VA with an outstanding football legacy. He had a tremendous impact on numerous people, as he thoroughly enjoyed helping family, friends, and coworkers. James never tired of spending time with his two nephews, his sister and his brother-in-law, whether it was working or just having fun. Lending a helping hand to his mother after the death of his father was just who James was. He was always willing to learn something new. He gave himself unselfishly in everything he did and expected nothing in return. As an avid runner, and lover of animals and the outdoors, James will be truly missed and may his kind and caring spirit surround us all. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Joan Ritenour; his mother, Clarene Ritenour of Nokesville, VA; sister, Carolyn J. Herndon and her husband, Glen Herndon of Nokesville, VA; and his nephews, Matthew A. Heisler of Balko, OK and Jason E. Heisler of Louisa, VA. Interment will immediately follow the service in Stonewall Memory Gardens.4 He was buried at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, Virginia.4 He was born on January 31, 1955 at Prince William Co., Virginia.2,3,4 He married Joan Ellen Poole, daughter of Earl Stafford Poole and Teva Dare Lucado, on May 9, 1975 at Manassas, Virginia.1,2,5,6 James Wilton Ritenour Jr. died on November 21, 2016 at Falls Church, Fairfax Co., Virginia, at age 61.4
