She was 97 years, 11 months and four days old. Mary Jane was born at Speedway, near Athens, on Nov. 18, 1909, the daughter of the late John K. and Ollie Pettry Craighead. An independent woman, Mary Jane was able to live alone in her home until her passing on Monday. A dedicated homemaker, she was a longtime resident of Mount Tabor Road and a faithful member of the Church of God Family Worship Center since 1970, where she was well loved by her church family and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ervin Roberts, on Aug. 13, 1988; and her only child, her beloved daughter, Shirley Anne Fridley, who died on Nov. 6, 1998. Mary Jane was the fond mother-in-law of Richard Fridley of Pensacola, Fla; the dear grandmother of Richard E. and his wife, Pamela Fridley, of Annandale, Va., and David Fridley of Pensacola; and the great-grandmother of Elizabeth, Carolyn and Paul Fridley. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with Pastor Mark Schrade officiating. Entombment will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley. He was a member of the Painters Chapel United Methodist Church in Speedway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Craghead; and a sister, Alice Raines. Survivors include one brother, Bobby J. Craghead and wife, Nancy of Spanishburg; a nephew who lived with him, Mark A. Shrewsbury and wife, Sue; and a host of other nephews and nieces. Honoring Mr. Craghead’s request, his body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday from the Burns Womal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Revs. Bobby Holcomb and John Hooper officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from noon until time of the service. on July 22, 2000.4

Bob had graduated from Harvey High School in Painesville, Ohio, and had worked for the Avery International Corporation for several years in Painesville. He moved to the Spanishburg area in 1981 and opened a store in the Lake Bottom community until 1984. He then worked for the Board of Education in Mercer County as the head custodian for Spanishburg School until his retirement in 2000. For a short period of time, he along with his devoted wife were caretakers at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed sports of all kinds, but especially loved the Cleveland Indians and Browns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Ben; along with a sister, Alice Raines. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and caring wife of 46 years, Nancy Carolyn Smith Craghead; children, Robbin Walker and husband, Ronnie of Gainesville, Fla., Daniel Craghead of Fairport Harbor, Melissa Meadows of Spanishburg, and Sheila Dickerson and husband, Steven of Durham, N.C; and grandchildren, Jennifer, Rachel, Hannah, Melanie, Brandon, Ryan, and Ainsley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Hannu Vepsalainen officiating. Burial will follow in the Athens Cemetery in Athens. Friends called from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home on October 8, 2002.1

He was born Aug. 5, 1955 in Painesville. He was an avid sports fan who followed the Cleveland browns, Cavaliers and Indians. He also loved NASCAR. Mr. Craghead was an assembler for CRES COR in Mentor for the last 4 years. Survivors are his mother, Elaine La Vern Craghead of Orlando, Fla; sister, Pamela Riddick; and brother, Sherrill Craghead, both of Orlando, Fla. He was preceded in death by his father, William Craghead and brother, Larry Craghead. Friends may call 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Rev. Hannu Vepsalainen will officiate the service. The family suggests donations be made in his name to Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor. Arrangements are being handled by Potti Funeral Home in Fairport Harbor. on December 5, 2006.2

Born June 12, 1938, in East Gulf, he was the son of the late Chauncey B. and Mildred M. Pennington Craghead. Mr. Craghead was a graduate of Athens High School, Class of 1961, and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, Athens. For many years, he was a resident of the Princeton Health Care Center on Courthouse Road. While he was a patient, he served as president of the resident council for many years. Survivors include two sisters, Mona Clark and her husband, Edward G., of Melbourne, Fla., and Barbara Murphy and her husband, Lawrence, of Speedway; nieces and nephews, Eric Clark and his wife, Sandra, Brian and Melanie Murphy; and two great-nieces, Paige and Amanda Clark. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Burns-Wornal Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory, Athens Road, Princeton, with the Revs. Kevin Goodings and Tom Hill officiating.
