     Deborah Gale "Debbie" Wimmer Deborah has been institutionalized since she was about 18 years of age. She was born on July 18, 1956. She died on August 8, 2014 at Virginia at age 58.³ She Deborah Gale Wimmer, 58, of Pearisburg, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014, surrounded by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Wimmer Spraker and father, Albert Jackson Wimmer. Debbie celebrated the life she was given, which was made possible by her Elm Tree Group Home family. Debbie also was supported by Point West Club and her sisters, Sharon Sisson and husband, Gary & April Akers and husband, Jeff. The family would like to thank all who supported her and gave her such excellent care all these years. We love you and will miss you our dear sister. Laura Katherine "Lora" Hancock died on April 13, 1928 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 70; Her obituary has a death date of Apr 14, 1928.^7,3 She Mrs. Laura Elmore, widow of the late Paul N. Elmore, aged seventy-one, died at the home of one of her sons in Roanoke on Saturday, April 14th after a brief illness. Deceased was a daughter of the late Stephen Hancock and a native of Craig. He died suddenly at his home in the arms of his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret Ramona Beckner. Shelton was born on August 12, 1931, the fourth of eight children of the late Noah and Mamie Beckner. He will be remembered with much love by his wife, Margaret; his two sons and daughters-inlaw, Carlton Wayne Beckner and Gerry, and Michael (Pete) Lane Beckner and Karen; brothers, Allen (Joe) Beckner and wife, Mary, and Gary Wayne Beckner and wife, Gladys; sister, Florence Beckner Carr; five grandchildren, Christopher Wayne Beckner and wife, Erin, Kelly Dawn Beckner, Joshua Aaron Beckner, Melissa Anne Beckner, and Kacey Nicole McCreary and husband, Jonathan; three greatgrandchildren, Hayley Madison Beckner, Carter Gage Beckner, and Shilo Jaxon Beckner; uncle, Lewis Grant; sister-in-law and brother-inlaw, Alice and Kendrick Stevens; and several very special nieces and nephews that he held dear. Shelton was known by all that knew him by his love for his Lord, his wife and his family. He was a long time member of Poages Mill Church of the Brethren in Roanoke where he served as deacon, sang in the choir and the "Jolliettes," and had many dear friends. He retired from Mennell Milling after 46 years of service. He loved spending time with his "weekly bowling buddies," singing and patting his foot to old time bluegrass and southern gospel music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. His boisterous laugh and always smiling face will be missed by many. on November 12, 2009.²
