He was also active in the farming community. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Harman. He is survived by his wife, Marie J. Harman; son, John Gaynor Harman, Rockville, Md; two daughters, Gina Fletcher, Charlottesville; Vicky Robertson, Silver Springs, Md; brother, William Harman, Christiansburg; sister, Polly H. Eggleston, Petersburg; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday from the Main Street Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Peter duPlessis with burial in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 Saturday evening. on March 17, 1990.1

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2007 from Oakey's South Chapel with Dr. Bryan Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's South Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131 Fairfax, Va. 22038-1131. West, Salem; also several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Thursday 2:00 p.m. at the Floyd United Methodist Church with the Rev. Leonard Arnold and the Rev. Gene Sowder officiating. Interment in the West Family Cemetery at Westwood, Route 4, Floyd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Floyd United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home. on April 2, 1992.7
