She was born on October 19, 1924 in Hollis, Oklahoma to the late Eben M. Burkhalter and Ruby Riddle. Joveta leaves behind her family to cherish her memories, four children: William M. (Margaret) Stone of Houston, Texas, Nancy Jo Rodgers of Corpus Christi, Lyndon R. (Marina) Stone of Humble, Texas and Suzie (Terry) Moench of Corpus Christi; one sister, Naomi Pape of Munday, Texas; six grandchildren: Stacy Nunn, Michael Stone, Billy Ray Rodgers, Terry Moench, Jr., Danny Stone and Charlie Moench; eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. She is preceded in death by her parents J.C. and Joveta Stone. Nancy Jo is survived by her children, Stacy Nunn (J.M.) and William Ray Rodgers (Tina); her siblings, Bill Stone (Margaret), Lyndon Stone (Marena), Suzie Moench (Terry); her grandchildren, Georgia and Jake Nunn, Shailynn, Lyndon, Christopher, and Victoria Rodgers; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends a Special Thanks to Knopp Nursing Home, Max Beckmann with Fredericksburg Funeral Home, Dr. Felicia Howard and staff, and Ambleside School of Fredericksburg family. Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home in the stateroom on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.2 She was buried at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Nueces Co., Texas.2 Her married name was Rodgers.1 She married Unknown Rodgers.1 Nancy Jo Stone was born on January 30, 1947 at Quanah, Hardeman Co., Texas.2 She died on July 30, 2016 at Fredericksburg, Gillespie Co., Texas, at age 69.2

She was born February 6, 1923 in Wellington, TX to Mike and Ruby Burkhalter. Naomi married Frederick Wilhelm Pape on August 10, 1941. Naomi was a member of the First Baptist Church for 65 years where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir. She also was a member and served several terms as president of the PTA. She was a member of Eastern Star for several years. Naomi was the bookkeeper for John Deer for many, many years but prior to that she worked at many different places including City Grill, Morton Wilborns, Beatys, Rexall and Dairy Treat. She also ran the Snack Shack. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Joveta Stone and one brother Jessie D. Burkhalter. She is survived by one son; Henry and wife Emma Jean Pape of Fort Worth, TX, two daughters; Frieda Brown and husband, Gene of Rhineland, TX, and Martha Pape of Munday, TX. Also, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Cemetery. on July 22, 2015.2

Peggy Sue Langford was buried at Fairview Cemetery (North Section), Memphis, Hall Co., Texas.4 She was born on May 21, 1945 at Wellington, Collingsworth Co., Texas.4,2 She died on October 8, 1972 at Texas at age 27.2,4 She A former Wellington girl, Miss Peggy Sue Langford of Memphis, was the victim of a drowning accident Sunday, October 8, in the Frio River in Central Texas. Miss Langford, 27, attending a camp north of Leakey in Real County with a delegation from Vernon, was found in a deep pool of water about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Searchers found Miss Langford's body shortly after she had been discovered missing from a group that she had left momentarily for a trip to her cabin. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace S. J. Chiodo. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Travis Baptist Church, Memphis, with the Rev. Wilburn Coffman, pastor and the Rev. C. H. Murphy, pastor of First Baptist Church, Memphis, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at Memphis. Miss Langford was a native of Wellington and a member of Travis Baptist Church in Memphis. Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Langford of Memphis; and three sisters, Mrs. Calvin Tow of Dalhart, Mrs. Bill Heckathron of Killeen and Mrs. Jerry Montgomery of Memphis. on October 12, 1972.2
