     Harold Winston Newby Harold Winston Newby age 85 of Moneta passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 4, 1938, a son of the late George Harold and Annie Belle Moses Newby. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Willard Newby; and stepbrother, Danny Aye. Harold was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, and he was a hardworking man that loved his family. One of the many joys of his life was skeet shooting. He was a member of Franklin County Gun Club, and he was the AA State Champion Skeet Shooter many years ago. He also won numerous other awards throughout the years. He was a kind and gentle man that will be missed by his family and those that knew him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Violet Newby; his daughters, Anita Newby Mayle (Lonnie) and Patricia Newby Angle; one granddaughter, Cassie Hynes; three grandsons, Johnathan Lindsey, Zachary Bowman and Joshua Lindsey (Crystal); great-grandchildren, Kayla, Emilee, Kayleigh, Wessley and Landyn.
