She was born September 20, 1923, in Roane County, W.Va., a daughter of the late John L. and Glada Brannon Boggs. Freda was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She was an avid hunter and fisherman. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy (Harvey) Morrison and Pamela (Chuck) Exline, both of Elizabeth; one son, Harvey S. (Cathy) Nicholson of Grantsville, W.Va; grandchildren, Shana Nicholson, Julie Preston, and Andy Dennis; step-granddaughter, Amy Sheppard; great-grandson, Thomas Nicholson; and longtime friends, Eva Jones and Julie Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey H. Nicholson; one grandson, H. Michael Morrison; and siblings, Dalton, George, Icie, Voliet and Garnet. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg with Pastor Steve Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Edward Sinnett; one child, Ginger Brock and her husband, Paul of Parkersburg; three granddaughters, Tammi Boice Blakeney (Michael) of Monroe, N.C., Tricia Boice Medley of Broken Arrow, Okla. and Michelle "Missy" Boice McFalling of Columbia, S.C; eight great-grandchildren, Janay Brown, Joshiah Blakeney, Courtney Schommer, Jessica Schommer, Nicholas Schommer, Tyler Schommer, Siera McFalling and Blayney McFalling. She is also survived by a sister, Freda Nicholson of Elizabeth; a sister-in-law, Madeline Chichester of Parkersburg; a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Della Sinnett of Dallas, Ga., and many nieces and nephews. Father David Huffman will officiate and burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Ohio Valley Health Care Center, to TLC in Home Services and to Amedisys Hospice Services. on May 27, 2010.3

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Boggs; one sister, Helen Gertrude Jarvis of Looneyville; two brothers, Charles Burns of Stollings and Arnold G. Burns of Looneyville; nephews, Charles Burns and David Jarvis. Maggie, as she was known to all, was a member of the Henry’s Fork Baptist Church, Tariff. She was homemaker, loved her cats and little dog. Maggie and George never had any children of their own, but they were parents and grandparents to all the children in the neighborhood and beyond. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, her flowers, gospel music and taking care of her lawn. Survivors include a sister-in-law, June Burns of Stollings; nieces, Clara Combs of Spencer and Gloria Burgess of Wilkinson; nephews, Alan Burns of Looneyville and Geary Burns of Hurricane; several great nieces and nephews. Ira Edward Sinnett Ira Edward (Papa) Sinnett, 86, of Parkersburg, died on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Ohio Valley Health Care. He was born to the late Melvin and Delphia Lamp Sinnett on Aug. 24, 1926 in Parkersburg. Edward graduated from Parkersburg High School, and attended Mountain State College. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum of Ravenswood. He had a great passion for golf. Edward attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He loved to travel to Florida. His family was truly blessed to have such a wonderful person in their lives. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, and was recipient of the Pacific Theater Ribbon, The American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. Edward is survived by one child, Ginger Brock and her husband Paul of Parkersburg. He is survived by three granddaugthers, Tammi Boice Blakeney (Michael) of Monroe, N.C., Tricia Boice Schommer of Broken Arrow, Okla. and Michelle (Missy) Boice McFalling of Columbia, S.C; eight great-grandchildren, Janay Brown, Josiah Blakeney, Courtney Schommer, Jessica Schommer, Nicholas Shommer, Tyler Schommer, Siera McFalling and Blayney McFalling. Her Social Security Number was 236-70-7797.4 Gladys Mae Cutright Gladys Mae Elmore, 90, the oldest resident of the Jimtown community at the time of her death, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since March 9. She had been in failing health; however, her death was unexpected. Born Nov. 30, 1911 at Adolph, she was the daughter of the late Harmon and Birdie Lloyd Cutright. She was twice married. In 1927, she married Bill Rutherford, who preceded her in death in 1930. On Feb. 13, 1933, she was united in marriage to Fred W. Elmore, who preceded her in death in 1986. She is survived by five daughters, Willa Mae "Shorty" Bibey, Belington, Mrs. Howard (Rosalie) Miller, Mabie, Mrs. Roy Alfred (Katie) Howes, Philippi, Jeannie Merritt, Beverly, and Mrs. Tom (Joy) Bender, Kingsville Road, Coalton; two stepdaughters, Lorraine Wolfe and Loretta Philipps, both of Jimtown; two stepsons, Bill Elmore and wife, Esma, LaGrange, Ga., and John Elmore and wife, Elsie, Jimtown; one sister, Rose Fox, Elkins; three half sisters, Vera Hanifan, Barbertown, Ohio, Mrs. Harold (Barbara) Tawney, Wadsworth, Ohio, and Dortha (Dot) Thomason, Mabie; one half brother, Edward Cutright, Belington; 40 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Shirley Bodkin; three sons, Robert Lee, Bobby and Ray Elmore; a sister, Florence Pingley; four brothers, Ernest, Stanley, Basil and Bunker Cutright; two grandsons, two step-grandchildren, and also her stepmother, Ruth Cutright. Mrs. Elmore was employed by Tom Eidell and his late wife, Caroline, for 11 years. She was a member of the Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church at Jimtown, where she served as Sunday School superintendent for 40 years. She was also an adult Sunday School teacher for several years. Friends were received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel Sunday after 5 p.m. On Monday, Mrs. Elmore was moved to the Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church for visitation from noon until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Leon Hevener, pastor of the church, officiated and interment followed in the Phillips Cemetery. The F.E. Elmore and wife, Jeanette, Jimtown, one half brother, Carl David Elmore and wife, Carolyn, Jimtown, one stepsister, Willa Mae Bibey, Belington, four half sisters, Kathryn Howes and husband, Alfred, Philippi, Wilma Jean Merrit, Beverly, Rosalea Miller and husband Howard, Mabie, Joyce Bender and husband, Tommy, Kingville, twenty-two grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents was one brother, Harley Elmore, two sisters, Loretta Phillips and Lorraine Wolfe, two half brothers, Robert Neal and Ray Henry Elmore, and one half sister, Shirley Bodkins. He attended school at Mabie and had served as a Rifleman during World War II with the United States Army. He had worked in steel mills for ten years and in the coal mines for twenty-three years. He retired in 1988 from Island Creek Coal Company at Bayard. He was a member of the Coalton Veterans of Foreign Wars, was an avid gardener, loved to sing and play guitar, and was a Methodist by faith. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 11 AM.
