Cynthia was born August 14, 1961 in Forsyth County, a daughter to the late George Carper Sr. and Helen Wood Carper. She obtained her Associate’s Degree from Forsyth Community College. She married Michael Joseph LaMorte III in 2000. She was preceded in death by her father George Carper Sr. as well as her brother George Carper Jr. In life, Cynthia loved painting and especially loved her family. She is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 19 years, Michael Joseph LaMorte III, her mother Helen Wood Carper, son Terry Phibbs Jr. of Mocksville, son John Griffin of Advance, stepson Michael LaMorte IV of Harford, New York, stepdaughter Amanda LaMorte of Mocksville, brother David Carper of Oklahoma, as well as seven grandchildren.3 She married Mark Anthony Spainhour.6 Cynthia Anne "Cindy" Carper married Terry Randall Phibbs Sr.6 Her married name was Phibbs. Her married name was Spainhour. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. Born May 7, 1884, in Summers County, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Mary Wiseman Meadows. She was a lifelong resident of Summers and Monroe counties. Mrs. Cody was a member of the Zion Methodist Church. Survivors include five sons, Roy of Montgomery, Charles of Hinton, and Harold, Archie and Roscoe Iddings, all of Richmond, Va; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Cody of Marie and Miss Rose Iddings of Hinton; a brother, William Meadows of Hinton; three sisters, Mrs. O. C. Allen and Mrs. Oliver Kessler, both of Hinton, and Mrs. Lena Lyton of Charleston; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A son, James, died in 1960. The funeral will be conducted at the New Hope Methodist Church at Marie. Burial will be in the church cemetery. on August 30, 1963.3
