Hermit Benjamin Wolfe was buried at Phillips Cemetery, Jimtown, Randolph Co., West Virginia.2 His Social Security Number was 232-22-5844.4 He Hermit Benjamin Wolfe, age 94 years, a resident of Jimtown, WV departed this life early Thursday morning, January 31, 2013 at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins, WV. He was born Friday, August 16, 1918 at Hemlock, WV to the late Ephraim and Naomi Zirkle Wolfe. He was married to the former Mary Lorraine Elmore, who preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Benjamin Wolfe and wife Patricia; Roger Lee Wolfe and wife Wanda, all of Warren, OH; four grandchildren, Tammy Dalrymple and husband Walt; the Rev. Kennith Wolfe, Jr. and wife Marlene; Jeffery Wolfe; and Kim Schoonover; six great grandchildren, Amanda; Renden; Logan; and Marshall Wolfe; Alex Bronsen; and Valerie Dalrymple and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Preceding him in death are four sisters; three brothers; four step sisters; and two step brothers. Hermit served in the Civilian Conservation Corp as a young man at Glady, WV and was a proud Veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II in the European Campaign in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany with the 40th Engineers. He was a United Mine Worker's of America worker for twenty seven years in the mines of Randolph County and was a construction worker, working for the Labor Union of Clarksburg WV for fifteen years. He also worked for Home Hardware of Elkins for many years. He was a person who loved to talk and never met a stranger. He was an avid gardener who loved his potato patch, loved to hunt and fish and greatly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Sunday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Monday, February 4, 2013 at 1:30 PM. The Rev. John Frum, a nephew of Hermit, will officiate and interment will follow at the Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown, WV, where the H. W. He was born June 28, 1918, at Jimtown, a son of the late George Marshall Phillips and Vinnie Rowan Phillips. On April 8, 1944, at Elkins, he was married to Loretta Pearl Elmore Phillips, who preceded him in death Aug. 15, 1991. He is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Kathryn Howes of Kingsville, with whom he resided for the past two and a half years. Also preceding him in death was one son, Gary Allen Phillips; four brothers, Ralph, Ray, Russell and Roy Phillips; and four sisters, Ruth Paugh, Reta and Ruby Simon and Jane Doerr. Robert owned and operated Phillips Auto Sales prior to his retirement. He was a member of Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church at Jimtown. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Interment will follow in Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown. on January 26, 2017.2

Bennett, all of Jimtown; three sisters, Diane L. Workman and husband, Brent, of Elkins, Donna Marie Polce and husband, Michael, and Deborah L. Conley and husband, Greg, all of Jimtown; one grandson, Noah Wingfield of Chenoweth Creek; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Fred and Gladys Cutright Elmore; and his maternal grandparents, Harry and Mary LeeMaster Miller. He attended the Norton Grade School and Coalton 12-Year School. He worked for the Island Creek Coal Co. for 17 years and prior to his illness he worked for the Wilson Lumber Co. at Elkins and Tanner Lumber Co. at Jimtown. Roy loved the outdoors, and fishing and hunting were his favorite pastimes. He wrote songs and loved to play and sing on the guitar. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Michael G. Richards will officiate and interment will follow in the Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown. Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Roy Glenn Elmore. on November 5, 2008.1

He was under the care of the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center at Clarksburg, WV and died at the Barbour County Good Samaritan Center surrounded by his loving family. Death was attributed to several heart attacks. He was born Tuesday, September 2, 1952 at Coalton, WV a son of the late John Dayton Elmore and Elsie Miller Elmore. He is survived by his loving mother: Elsie Miller Elmore, Jimtown; also surviving is one son: Calvin Andrew Elmore Jr. of Luray, VA and three daughters: Melissa Tallman, Belington, WV, Elizabeth Shumate, OH, and Ashley Masters of IN; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother: David A. Elmore and companion Doretta K. Bennett, Jimtown. Three sisters: Diana L. Workman and husband Brent, Elkins, Donna Marie Polce and husband Michael, and Deborah L. Conley and husband William, all of Jimtown; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death his father: John D. Elmore and by one brother: Roy G. Elmore. He attended the Norton Grade School and the Coalton Twelve Year School. Calvin was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a coal miner for Republic Steel and a Timberman. He was a noted artist and wrote songs; loved to play the guitar and sing. He was an avid gardener, and had a wonderful garden this year. Calvin was a Methodist by faith. He will be greatly missed by his family, and all who knew him. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1: 30 PM. The Rev. Surviving are one son, David L Bodkin and wife Katrina, Coalton, one daughter Deborah Wimer and husband Dale, Norton, one brother, Walter Bodkins and wife Rosemary, North Canton, OH, two sisters, Shirley L. Daniel and husband Neil, New Brighton, PA and Kaye Frances Bell of Elkins. Six grandchildren, Tammy Goodwin and husband Jamie, Harding, WV, Thomas Maynard and wife Amanda, Elkins, Kimberly Conn and husband Andy, Elkins, Michael Bodkin, Coalton, Scott Judy and wife Heather, Elkins and Eric Judy of Coalton and fourteen great grandchildren also survive. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Sylvia Poling and Erma Marsh and three brothers, Troy, Robert and Ersel Bodkins. Mr. Bodkin attended the schools of Randolph County and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Kelly Foundry prior to his retirement. He was an active member of the Norton Community Church, loved gardening and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He touched many lives and will always be remembered with love. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2011 from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim Murphy and Rick Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Phillips Cemetery near Jimtown where full military rites will be accorded at the gravesite by members of the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard Program, H.W. Death was attributed to cancer. She was born Thursday, July 1, 1943, at Mabie, a daughter of the late Frank Guire and Julia Belan Guire. On July 16, 1961, at Chester, she was married to Ray H. Elmore, who preceded her in death April 23, 1987. Surviving are four sons, Curtis R. Elmore and wife, Crystal, of Coalton, Timothy A. Elmore and wife, Connie, of Norton, Randall N. Elmore and wife, Pam, of Norton and Rodney L. Elmore and wife, Ginger, of Elkins; one daughter, Teresa D. Elmore of Norton; three sisters, Mary Francis Shepherd and husband, Earl, of Chester, Lorraine Killingsworth of Norton and Kathryn Fleece of Mabie; nine grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Sheena, Wesley, Amy, Cassie and Cody Elmore, all of Norton, Chelsea and Zackary Elmore, both of Elkins; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Elmore and Karah Bennett; both of Norton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Joseph Guire. She was a graduate of Coalton High School as the valedictorian of her class in 1961. She had worked for Family Health Services for many years, as an associate agent for Jon Parrack Insurance for several years, as a receptionist for Dr. Morgan Jones for several years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Saint Patrick Catholic Church at Coalton. She loved spending time with family and friends and was a loving mother to all and will be sadly missed. The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. On Friday at 7 p.m., a prayer service will be recited by the Rev. Fr. William Anderson at the funeral home. On Saturday morning, Nov. 11, Mrs. Elmore will be moved to Saint Patrick's Catholic Church at Coalton where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fr. William Anderson and the Rev. Fr. Eric Antwi will be the Presiders and interment will follow in Phillips Chapel Cemetery at Jimtown. Lohr and Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Judith Lee Guire Elmore. on November 10, 2006.2

Carl David Elmore Carl David Elmore, 73, a resident of the Jimtown community, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Davis Memorial Hospital emergency department. He was born Jan. 13, 1940, at Jimtown, the son of the late Fred W. Elmore and Gladys Cutright Elmore. Carl grew up in Jimtown and graduated from the Coalton High School. He attended Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church at Jimtown and owned and operated Elmore Logging. He loved gardening, fishing and hunting. Carl was appreciated for his love of his family and friends and for his giving heart. On Oct. 22, 1961, he was married to Carolyn Harlan Elmore, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Tammy Elmore Phillips and husband, John; two sons, Todd R. Elmore and wife, Diane, of Mill Creek and Thomas C. Elmore and wife, Leslie, of Montrose; six grandchildren, Brandon Elmore and Tish of Fairmont, Eric and Ashley Phillips of Coalton, Brittany Elmore of Charleston, Chloe Phillips of Coalton, Jonathan and Tyler Elmore of Montrose; and two great-grandchildren, Alyson and Jancen Phillips of Coalton. He is also survived by three sisters, Kathryn Howes and husband, Alfred, of Kingsville, Jeanie Merritt of Elkins and Joy Bender and husband, Thomas, of Kingsville; sister-in-law, Elsie Elmore of Jimtown; brothers-in-law. Roberts Phillips of Jimtown and Howard Miller of Coalton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Harlan and wife, Dorothy Jean, of Adolph, Richard Harlan and wife, Terry, of Jimtown, Kenneth Harlan and wife, Doretta, of Jimtown, Dale Harlan and wife, Anna, of Jimtown, Bert Harlan and wife, Mary, of Junior, Jim Harlan and wife, Sandy, of Jimtown, Mary Ann Hodgkiss and husband, Edward, of Sunet Beach, N.C., Mildred Thompson and husband, Roger, of Elkins, Brenda Currence and husband, Dennis, of Tallmansville, Linda Biller of Kerens, Barbara Sams and husband, Michael, of Parkersburg, Patti Harlan Hodgkiss and husband, Larry, of Woodbine, Md; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive along with his dogs, Daultin and Bear. Also preceding him in death were his mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Lucy Harlan; sisters, Loretta Phillips, Lorraine Wolfe and husband, Hermit, Wilma Bibey and husband, Kenneth, Shirley Bodkins and husband, Russell; brothers, Harlie Elmore and wife, Edith, Bill and Ezma Elmore, John Elmore, Ray Elmore and wife, Judy, Robert Elmore; and brother-in-law, Doug Biller. On Sunday, June 2, Mr. Elmore will be moved to Phillips Chapel Church at Jimtown where a funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. The Rev.
