He then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Marshall University, Huntington, and his master’s degree at WV State. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Galena Iddings, of Oak Hill, Surviving him is his brother, Jim Iddings of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Bob Iddings and wife Mona of St. Albans; niece, Amanda Iddings; nephews , Adam and Daniel Iddings; nephew, Bobby Iddings and wife, Emma (and grandniece, Molly). Joe loved teaching psychology. He was employed by the Bradford School, Columbus, Ohio. He was well respected by his fellow faculty members and his students, who describe his teaching techniques as engaging and inspiring. Interment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, in Oak Hill.3 He was born on April 21, 1956.3 He died on June 30, 2019 at Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio, at age 63.3

Juanita was born in Forest Hill, WV in 1925 in the home of her grandmother on a dairy farm. She attended Beckley College in WV, worked in a bank there, and then married Dr. Joe Winner optometrist in 1952. Juanita accepted Christ shortly before her marriage, and walked with the Lord the rest of her entire life. A fulltime homemaker, she blessed her children by example, by earnest daily prayer, by scripture reading, taking them faithfully to church, and by encouraging them spiritually always. Juanita was gentle, empathetic, and intuitive. She enjoyed painting and being out in nature, the latter a lifelong love from her childhood. In 1981 she and Joe moved to Winston-Salem, NC, and in September 2020 moved with her daughter to Advance, NC. A private graveside service will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens on January 18, 2021.6

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Janice Chanin Iddings of Bluefield; two sons, Raymond Daniel (Danny) Iddings of Charles Town and Joseph Daniel Iddings II of Trenton, Fla; one daughter, Darlene Bowden of Ronceverte; his stepmother, Mrs. Alice Iddings of Ironton, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Dorse Ann Bowden of Mt. Nebo, Mrs. Juanita Winters of Beckley; and six grandchildren. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery at Marie. Members of the Order of the Eagles will conduct a service tonight. Members of the Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers and conduct graveside rites. on March 13, 1984.5

Tomlinson, 88, of Lewisburg passed away early Friday morning December 27, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side. Jane was born November 2, 1931 in Ohio and was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Rubina Taylor Hopkins. Mrs. Tomlinson was a retired telephone operator for over 21 years at the Greenbrier Hotel. In the 60’s she owned and operated Fairlea Cleaners; Jane excelled as a seamstress for most of her life, a craft she learned from her mother at an early age from her mother. She was a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 108, which she was a member for over 50 years. Jane was a past Noble Grand of the Rebekah’s; past President of the BPW; past president of the Tri-County CEO’s and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #26. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Tomlinson; daughter Bessie Virginia Iddings; son Raymond Danny Iddings; 1 sister and 1 brother. Surviving are her daughter Darlene Morgan of Lewisburg; sister Nancy Pedersen of Florida; grandchildren, Melanie (Jason) Haines, Bobbi Morgan, Joetta (Wade) McKelvey, Sonya Morgan, Paula Clark, Jimmy Iddings and Michael McReynolds; 13 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and a special grandson in law Camber Clark. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Summers of Rand, Miss Gatha Jarvis of Wellford; four sons, Everett and Frank of South Charleston, Opal of Frame and Blake of Rand; four sisters, Mrs. Betty Pickering, Mrs. Virgie Staats of Wellford, Mrs. Ethel Jarvis of Walton, Mrs. Oilie Hiveley of Clendenin; three brothers, Edward Elmore, George Elmore, both of Wellford, Arthur Elmore of Clendenin and eight grandchildren. The body will be removed from the Albert Myers and Son funeral home Monday at 2 p.m. to the residence at Wellford. on July 1, 1946.5
