He was born June 22, 1940, in Marion County, W.Va., son of Roy William and Elizabeth Pearl (Loudermill) Paxton. He served in the U.S. Army medical service USAR from 1956 to 1958 and in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962. William married Patricia Mathews. He lived in the Burton-Middlefield area for 18 years, coming from Garrettsville. Mr. Paxton was a machinist at Speed Selector in Chagrin Falls. He was a lifetime member of Garrettsville Eagles, enjoyed fishing, watching football, and spending quality time with family. Survivors are his loving wife of 25 years, Patricia; sons, William F. (Lisa) Paxton, Jr. of Hiram and Robert W. (Mary Ann) Paxton of Bristolville; his step-daughter, Kelly (John) Ober of Hiram; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria of Florida and Betty of South Carolina; and brother, Chuck of West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elizabeth Pearl Paxton; and his brother, Kenneth. on May 12, 2009.2
