Thomas Nelson Broach Jr. Thomas Nelson Broach Jr., 81, of Oak Hill, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at CAMC General Hospital. Tom was born on August 2, 1941 in Mount Kisco, NY, to the late Thomas N. and Clara Shockey Broach. Tom was a veteran of the United States Marines with a rank of E-3. He worked as a Welder Mechanic at various Coal Preparing Plants and at Long Airdox in Oak Hill. Tom was a member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church. He was a 1960 graduate of Fayetteville High School. Tom enjoyed fishing, coin hunting with his metal detector, also an avid antique collector and dealer at the New River Antique Mall. In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his sister Patsy Johnson. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Doris Dobbins Broach, stepson Steven Grunenberg, stepdaughter Taunya Jones, son Thomas "Tombo" Broach III (Felicia), daughter Tami Langley (Shannon), grandchildren Braden Broach (fiancé Madison), Adrian Broach and Tucker Langley, brother-in-law Richard Dobbins (Margaret), many nieces and nephews. Tom also adored his two dogs Baby and Gypsy. Born August 6, 1922 at Montgomery, WV she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Waugh and Louise Marie Owens Waugh Lichliter. Marjorie graduated from Montgomery High School. She then began working for C&P Telephone Company in Gauley Bridge - which was during World War II. She completed her working career retiring from Plateau Medical Center. A member of the Kincaid First Church of God, Marjorie was blessed with the talent of playing the piano for the congregation for many years. She will be remembered for her ease in frequent conversation, her contagious smile, and wonderful sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that influenced the hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing, love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms - too many people to name individually, but including the staff of Hidden Valley and Hospice of Southern West Virginia; family, neighbors and friends either through prayer and/or visits and phone calls, and even random acts of kindness from total strangers who came in contact with her. It is in dedication to her memory which will be carried on in the legacy of love which is now in each of us, the lives she formed and touched by her love. How fondly she will be remembered: Our Angel who lived, laughed and loved. Marjorie was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Belmont - who she said was the love of her life and who so courageously gave his own life fighting for the freedom and rights of his country while serving in the United States Navy in the battle of Normandy aboard the USS Glennon 640. She was also preceded by her second husband, Kenneth Kincaid; son, Kenneth Kincaid Jr; third husband, Frank "Doodle" Carper; step-daughter, Debbie Carper; brother, Bob Waugh; sister-in-law, Sarah Peters; and nephew, Brian Carper. Her surviving family members are numerous and include her son, Raymond Belmont and wife, Belinda, of Ingram Branch; stepsons, Frank "Fuzzy" Carper and wife, Chris, and Danny Carper all of Ohio; and brother-in-law, Denny Peters of Mississippi. Also surviving are grandsons, Michael Belmont, Keith Belmont, Gary Belmont, and Doug Belmont all of Oak Hill, Dexter Thompson of Ingram Branch and Doug Kenney of Meadow Bridge; granddaughter, Cami Suzza and husband, Jack of Oak Hill; great grandchildren, Zachary Suzza, Jonathan Suzza, Nickolas Suzza, Kristin Belmont, Lyndsey Young, Destiny Belmont and fiance', Timothy Wayne Thomas; great-great grandchildren, Miley Waddell, Kailyn Jean Belmont, and Colton Allen Thomas; nephews, Michael Waugh, Johnny Waugh, Bobby Waugh, and Jimmy Carper; niece, Carolyn Waugh; a daughter of the heart, Barbara Cobb - who so unselfishly and graciously devoted herself as a companion and caregiver in assuring that Marjorie lived out her life to the fullest; and finally her fuzzy four-legged friend Jezzy "Baby" Carper. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 1 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Belmont, Keith Belmont, Gary Belmont, Doug Belmont, Dexter Thompson and Jack Suzza. on September 6, 2016.2

Robert Alan Carlisle was charged with first-degree murder, after Eunice Carlisle, 61, was shot once in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun early Saturday morning, troopers said. Police did not reveal the time of the shooting. Robert Carlisle lived with his mother. It was not known whether anyone else was in the home, at Monaville, at the time of the shooting. Robert Carlisle also was charged with robbery. He remained Saturday in the Logan County Jail awaiting bond. on January 27, 1991.4 She Mrs. Eunice Maxelline Carlisle, 61, of Monaville, Logan County, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 1991, after being shot in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun, said a state police spokesman. Her son, Robert Alan Carlisle, has been charged with the shooting, the spokesman said. She was a homemaker. Also surviving: daughter, Sherry Hall of Verdunville; son, Charles Prater of Monaville; brothers, Luther Nelson of Switzer, Ray Nelson of Holden, Eli Zion Nelson of Blanchester, Ohio, Paul Nelson of Gillespie, Ohio, Clarence Nelson of Chicago, Ill; three grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at James Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Jennings McCloud officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Godby. on January 30, 1991.1

Byrd Drive; he also worked for Eastern Associated Coal, Consol Coal, and retired in 1997 from Pittston Coal as the Regional Prep Plant Manager. Sherman loved fishing and regularly attended Oak Grove Christian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Harold W. Sowder, and his sister Loraine Lillian Radford. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 56 years Joanna Sowder, his daughter Danita Bragg and her husband Gary of Maple Fork, three brothers James Sowder of Westchester, Pa., Bob G. Sowder and his wife Jan of Warrenton, VA, Charles Sowder and his wife Jessie of Baltimore, Maryland. 5 sisters Evelyn Turner of Martinsville, VA, Betty Kornke and her husband Bill of Baltimore, Maryland, Roseann Culley of Baltimore, Maryland, Bonnie Hornsby of Bradley, Geneva Coley of Oak Hill, a special niece that was like a sister to him Jacqueline Huffman and her husband Wayne of Beckley, and many nieces and nephews and beloved friends. Services will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kelly Gowen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Beckley. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. on April 1, 2013.3
