     Dessie Louise Crawford Desssie Louise Crawford Obenchain passed way Saturday, June 23, 2018, following a short illness. Louise was born and raised in New Castle, Virginia and graduated from Craig County High School. She then moved to Roanoke, Virginia where she lived with her late husband Mack. She worked several years at Roanoke City Mills and Orange Dog. Louise was a member of Paxton Chapel Church in New Castle. Louise is survived by her mother, Helen Booth Crawford, of New Castle; sister, Linda Crawford Oiler; and brother-in-law, Joe Oiler, of New Castle; sister, Nancy Crawford Ellett; and brother-in-law, Rick Ellett, of Smith Mountain Lake; nephew, Chris Rose and wife Jessie of New Castle; and nieces, Amy Rose Witmer and husband Phil of Smith Mountain Lake, Mary Beth Oiler Davis and husband Rick of Lynchburg. She has six great nieces and nephews, Luther Davis, Anthea Davis, Alfred Davis, Madalyn Rose, Cooper Rose, and Brody Whitmer. She also leaves behind numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, a special friend, Sandy Chafin who spent many hours sitting with her during her short illness, and her "Angels" who helped her out over the last few years. Louise is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Percy Mack Obenchain, Jr. Louise loved playing the piano, crocheting, and working crossword puzzles. She will be missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Jim Morris at Paistel Funeral Home, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 3 p.m., followed by burial service in Crawford Memorial Cemetery located beside Paxton Chapel Church in New Castle.4 She was buried at Crawford Memorial Cemetery, Rt. 605 at Paxton Chapel, Red Brush, Craig Co., Virginia.4 She was born on March 2, 1946 at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia.3,4 As of March 4, 1966,her married name was Obenchain.2 She married Percy McCorkle "Mack" Obenchain Jr. on March 4, 1966 at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia.1,2,4,3 Dessie Louise Crawford died on June 23, 2018 at Virginia at age 72.4

     Percy McCorkle "Mack" Obenchain Jr. OBENCHAIN, Percy (Mack) Jr., November 14, 1935 - August 25, 2017. Passed away in the Veterans Hospital August 25, 2017. Born and raised in Covington, Virginia, graduated Covington High School, moved to Craig County to live with his grandmother Margaret (Maggie Maw) Phillips and then served in the U S Air Force. Mack later lived with Bob and Marie All of New Castle, and then moved to Roanoke Virginia in 1966. He retired from Norfolk Western/Southern Railroad where he worked as a clerk for 30 years then worked part-time at Kroger Towers for eight years. Mack was a member of Paxton Chapel Church in New Castle. Mack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dessie Louise Crawford Obenchain, his mother-in-law, Helen Crawford, sister-in-law Linda Crawford Oiler and brother-in-law Joe Oiler, sister-in-law Nancy Crawford Ellett and brother-in-law Rick Ellett, as well as numerous local nephews and nieces and many cousins in South Carolina and North Carolina. Percy is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy (Phillips) Obenchain Sparks and Percy McCorkel Obenchain, Sr. and sister Paula Ann Obenchain. Mack loved hunting and fishing and football games as well as playing cards (Rook and Canasta). He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Interment will follow at Crawford Memorial Cemetery located beside Paxton Chapel Church, New Castle.4 He was buried at Crawford Memorial Cemetery, Rt. 605 at Paxton Chapel, Red Brush, Craig Co., Virginia.5 He was born on November 14, 1935 at Covington, Alleghany Co., Virginia.5 He married Dessie Louise Crawford, daughter of Ashby Lee Crawford and Helen Louise Booth, on March 4, 1966 at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia.1,2,3,5 Percy McCorkle "Mack" Obenchain Jr. died on August 25, 2017 at Virginia at age 81.4
