He was also a youth baseball coach and participated in various bowling leagues. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his brothers, Gordon and Hugh Wimmer, both of Charlottesville, Va. He is survived by his wife, Maude A. Wimmer; sons, Gordon Wimmer of Winston-Salem, N.C., Robert Wimmer of Roanoke, Va., and Marvin Wimmer of Choctaw, Okla; stepchildren, Colby L. Bush, Rebecca George, Tracie Bactz and Tana Alderman, all of Salem, Va; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service officiated by Chaplain Charles Gwaltney will be held at Lotz Salem Chapel Monday, May 16, 2005 at 11 a.m. followed by a private interment. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the American Legion Post 2 Baseball. on May 13, 2005.¹

Wimmer of Charlottesville, and R.C. Wimmer of Salem; and many loyal friends. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Piedmont Shrine Club, Widows Sons Lodge No. 60, Roanoke Scottish Rite, ACCA Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S., Richmond, and BPO Elks No. 389. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens. on January 14, 1997.³

Wimmer and his wife, Maude, of Salem. A graveside funeral service will be conducted in Holly Memorial Gardens. on December 13, 2000.⁶
