He retired as a millwright from Edward Hines Lumber Co. after 40 years of service. Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed being out in the hills. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Janis of John Day; a daughter, Cheryl, and her husband, Terry Sherman, of John Day; a son, Roger Clark of Pilot Rock; three grandchildren, Megan Sherman, Colton Clark and Kaylie Clark, all of John Day; and three sisters, Lois Jean King of Payette, Idaho, Betty Lou White of Portland, and Stella McCauley of Mount Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hazel; and two brothers, Charles "Earl" and David.
