She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Midkiff and Harold Akers; son, John Keith Midkiff; daughter, Deborah Myers; and sister, Patricia Kesling. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Eddie and Vickie Midkiff, Martha Lynn Akers, David and Debbie Akers, and Richard Myers; grandchildren, Tracy and Brian Lytton, G. E. and Amanda Midkiff, and Tanner Akers; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Jacob, Kaleb and Parker; sister-in-law, Janice Jones, many nieces and nephews; very special friends, Richard and Lizzie King; her caregivers, Mary, Ann and Happy; and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery in Radford. on January 16, 2022.2 She died on January 30, 2022 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 91.2

Louise “Auntie” Roope Quesenberry, 98, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Spring Oak Senior Living in Christiansburg. Auntie was the daughter of the late Harry and Emily Roope of Christiansburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph N. Quesenberry, of 50 years; brothers James W. Roope, H.L. Roope, Glennard Roope; sisters Edna R. Case and Marie R. Moran; nephew John Roope; nieces Cynthia and Sharon Roope. Auntie is survived by nephew Jay Moran (Kelly); nieces Jamie Bond (Wendell), Kim Brumfield (Steve), and Jennie Stewart. Along with many great-nieces and great-nephews, she loved dearly. Auntie was a long-term member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and loved being with people. She especially enjoyed time with her family and watching baseball.
