     Evelyn Frances Weeks was buried at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery, on US 221, Willis, Floyd Co., Virginia.⁶ She Evelyn F. Alderman, 84 of Willis, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022. She is survived by her sons, David Hill and Paul Hill; daughters & sons-in-law, Deborah DeJesus and special friend, Ronald Smith, Pauline & Richard Horton, and Donna & Charles Harvey Marshall, Jr; grandchildren, Larry & Amy DeJesus, Ricky & Erin DeJesus, Louie Horton, Brandon & Ellen Marshall, Tyler Hill, Rhonda & Charles Curtis, Jessica & Matthew Thomas, Afton & Brandon Schmadeka, Ashley & Cody Webb, and Taylor Hill; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Sandra Hague. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.⁶ She was born on May 14, 1938 at Thayer, Fayette Co., West Virginia.⁵ She married Paul Sherer Hill, son of Jonathan Fred "John" Hill and Nancy Rachel Poff, on November 25, 1958 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,3 As of November 25, 1958,her married name was Hill. Evelyn Frances Weeks and Paul Sherer Hill were divorced on July 24, 1970 at Floyd Co., Virginia.⁴ Evelyn Frances Weeks died on May 30, 2022 at Virginia at age 84.⁶

     Darlene Nora Poff Darlene Nora Poff Dove, April 25, 1949 - July 26, 2021. On July 26, 2021, Darlene Nora Poff Dove, 72 years of age, passed away ever so peacefully. She leaves behind her loving husband and best friend, Calvin Dove, of 52 ½ years and her fur baby, Jada. Darlene and Calvin did everything together, even working side by side for 44 years at Kopy Korner. Darlene was a good Christian woman who loved with all her heart. She was always helping family and friends in need. She was good at selling donuts (years ago) and cooking; but most of all, to her family and friends, she was famous for making the best cakes ever. Darlene loved flowers and she loved giving them away too. Her flower beds and containers of flowers were always filled with different types and colors that was a sight to see. Darlene also loved her blueberries which she was always fighting the birds over. She was an avid prize-winning hand quilter too. Every hand stitch was made with love and care for the person she was giving the quilt to. Their cabin at the river was her get-a-way from the hustle and bustle of life. She could sit on her porch and listen to the river roll by, work in her flower gardens, mow, or just relax with the good Lord above and nature. Darlene loved having family and friends over at the river for get togethers, cookouts, or just to visit. Darlene also leaves behind her mother, Pauline Pratt Poff; two sisters, Lois Ann Akers and Melinda Shaver (Melvin); three sister-in-laws, Eva Jo Dove, Diane Dove, and Janice Hodge; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and special friends. All of whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her father, Martin Flemon Poff; sisters, Imogene Ruth Poff and Catherine Louise Poff; and a brother, Edsil McCoy Poff.² She was born on April 25, 1949 at Virginia.^1,2 She married Calvin Ray Dove on December 31, 1968 at Riner, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,3,2 As of December 31, 1968,her married name was Dove. Darlene Nora Poff died on July 26, 2021 at Virginia at age 72.²

     Larry Lynn Elmore was buried at Jacksonville Burial Ground, Rt. 8, 0.25 miles south of Floyd, Floyd Co., Virginia.^3,2 He was born on November 25, 1958 at Virginia.^1,2 He married Deborah Ann "Debra" Jewell, daughter of Jessie Irvin Jewell and Amy Elizabeth Howard, on June 28, 1978 at Floyd, Floyd Co., Virginia.¹ Larry Lynn Elmore died on April 15, 1980 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 21.^1,2

     Jessie Irvin Jewell was buried at Huffville Union Church Cemetery, Terrys Fork, Floyd Co., Virginia.⁴ He was born on September 17, 1937 at Virginia.⁵ He married Amy Elizabeth Howard on September 27, 1957 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁵ Jessie Irvin Jewell and Amy Elizabeth Howard were divorced on January 8, 1981 at Floyd Co., Virginia.⁵ Jessie Irvin Jewell died on April 25, 2012 at Virginia at age 74.⁴ He Jessie Irvin Jewell, 73, of Pilot, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012. He is preceded in death by parents, Frank and Catherine Howard Jewell; son, Kenny Jewell; brothers, Ralph and Doug Jewell; and sister, Imogene Cunningham. He is survived by wife, Susie Jewell; sons, Bobby Jewell, Troy Altizer, James Altizer; daughters, Debra Thomas, Patricia Smith, Jessica Jewell, Debra and William Akers, and Connie and Danny Marshall; grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith, Leroy Elmore, Jackie Elmore, Amanda Akers, Jessie Akers, Kali Akers, James Smith, Shannon Smith, April Jewell, Sharon Ramos, Amy Duncan, Josh Jewell, Chris Jewell, Scott Lawson, Brandon Lawson, James Lawson, Allie Burton; great-grandchildren Brittany Smith, Megan Smith, Alicia Akers, Jocelyn Akers, Arianna Akers, Billy Hall, Kaitlyn Edmonds, Jared Smith, Rhiannon Elmore, Chase Elmore, Audrey Elmore; brother, Larry Jewell; sister, Carolyn "Sissy" Jewell; and special friends, Kim Woolwine, Dorothy Howard, and Claudine Vance. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in Huffville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at the funeral home. on April 27, 2012.⁴

     James William Martin was buried at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, Fayette Co., West Virginia.^4,5,6 He was born on January 7, 1877 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^3,2,4 He married Georgia Mae/May Cox on December 8, 1904 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.^4,7 James William Martin died on October 1, 1952 at Oak Hill, Fayette Co., West Virginia, at age 75.^4,8 He Oct 1 - James W. Martin, 75, of Oak Hill died at his home this afternoon at 4 p.m. of complications following a heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Martin, Oak Hill; three daughters, Mrs. John Crawford, Richmond, Va; Mrs. W. H. Hill, Charleston; Mrs. Thomas Fitzwater, Oak Hill; and four sons, William J. and Robert E., Fayetteville; James F., Charleston; and Thomas C., Oak Hill. on October 2, 1952.⁸

Burial will follow in the Abbott cemetery at Beckwith. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Effie J. Martin; step-mother, Mrs. Mary Martin; and two daughters, Mrs. Effie Louise Henson and Miss Catherine Martin, all of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mrs. George Shawkey, of Oak Hill and Mrs. Michael Hildebrand, of Fayetteville. on January 26, 1949.⁶
