Gallemore of Bluefield, VA: and a brother-in-law, Richard C. Graham and wife, Marilyn of Southport, NC. He served in World War II under General Patton during Battle of the Bulge. He received a degree in Engineering from Virginia Tech and spent 27 years working for Bell System, which included working on the first cell phone system in the U.S. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Rotary Club. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2002, 11 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, VA. Their will be no visitation. on August 26, 2002.7

She was born in Terry's Fork, Floyd County, Va., on May 18, 1930, and was the daughter of L. Clarence and Lala Vest. Cigile was married to Lee Roy Martin Sr. for nearly 50 years when he preceded her in death on January 10, 1999. Her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and John Wynegar, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Lee (Angie) Martin of Wilmore, Ky. Cigile is also survived by two grandchildren, Ryan (Christie) Martin and Emily (Ben) Andrews, all of Wilmore, Ky. She has four great-grandchildren, Cameron and Whitley Martin, and Cooper and Griffin Andrews. Cigile has one surviving sister, Ethel Frances (Harold) Sheets; and two nieces, Fran (David) Inge and Carol Reed. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Lena (Archie) McAlexander, Jane Nichols, and Ocie Thompson; and brothers-in-law, Jim (Connie) Martin and Vernon (Sandra) Martin. Cigile worked for 47 years as bookkeeper for Roanoke Printing Company, retiring at the age of 80. She was also a charter member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Salem, Va. Interment at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, Va. on August 12, 2018.4

     Douglas McArthur "Mac" Garnand married Ellen Marie Vest, daughter of Coy Lee Vest and Evie Lou Hungate.1,2,4 Douglas McArthur "Mac" Garnand was buried at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, Pulaski Co., Virginia.4 He was born on March 24, 1942 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 He died on April 21, 2021 at Virginia at age 79.4 He Douglas MacArthur "Mac" Garnand, 79, of Riner, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Mac served honorably as a fourth grade of the specialist rank of United States Army Quartermaster Corps during the Vietnam Conflict, earning two purple hearts for his service. He retired from the United States Postal Service, and was a former member of the Riner Volunteer Fire Department. Mac was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Vest Garnand; parents, James and Willie Garnand; sister, Catherine Scaggs; brothers, Henry, Billie, Freddie, Robert, and Jimmie Garnand. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Dale and Stephanie Garnand; daughter, Dana Garnand; two grandchildren, Lauren and Joshua Garnand; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Pat Garnand; sister, Dottie Garnand; sisters-in-law, Pat, Debbie, Arlene, and Vivian Garnand; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Helen St.Clair; special nephew, Brad St.Clair and wife Lisa; great-nephews, Elijah and Carter St.Clair; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friends Timothy Chrisley, Todd Chrisley, and Paul Johnson. The family will receive friends on Monday, April, 26, 2021 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Shake Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin. on April 25, 2021.4
