Bobby proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from Federal Mogul and Hubbell Lighting. He was an avid sportsman and race car fan. Bobby was a friend to all and will be missed by many. Bobby is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy E. Cole; his son, Travis; daughter, Sabrina; and granddaughter, Galen Cole. He is survived by two brothers and their wives, Charles E. and Dot Cole, Georgia, Lee and Norma Cole, Pilot; his sister-in-law, Connie E. Turner, Christiansburg; mother-in-law, Alma H. Epperly, Roanoke. He is also survived by several special nieces and nephews. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Vada Cole in 1963; his infant daughter, Tracie, in 1976, and his brother, Don, in 1999. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital and, most especially, the 2nd floor nursing and respiratory staff for their care and concern during his illness. The family deeply appreciates the services of Dr. Harry E. McCoy and his staff and Dr. Jose' Rivero. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. on May 2, 2006.²

Surviving in addition to her parents are her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Epperly, Christiansburg and her great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hodge, Christiansburg, Mrs. French Cole, Pilot. A graveside service will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. on July 19, 1976.⁵

     Linda Faye Cunningham Linda Cunningham Meredith, 74, of Newberry, died Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Lexington Medical Center. Born on May 26, 1947, in Christiansburg, VA, she was a daughter of the late William Taylor and Elise Howard Cunningham. Mrs. Meredith is survived by her husband, John William Meredith; a daughter, Carol Ann (Frank) Garcia of Leesville and a sister, Geneva Martin of Vinton, VA. She was predeceased by a son, Steve Allen Meredith and a brother, Thomas Cunningham.⁴ She was born on May 26, 1947 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,3,4 She married John William Meredith, son of Roy William Meredith and Mary Katherine Epperly, on August 15, 1964 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,2,4 As of August 15, 1964,her married name was Meredith. Linda Faye Cunningham died on May 27, 2021 at Lexington, Lexington Co., South Carolina, at age 74.⁴

Her loving husband, Elwin Leon Lawrence, preceded Mrs. Lawrence in death. She is the daughter of Noah and Callie Collins, who passed away when she was a young child. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death. In her younger years, Mrs. Lawrence worked as a salesperson for Waters' Jewelry, and Margaret Spangler's and Nelson's dress shops in Princeton, W.Va. She also worked for Patterson and Revco drug stores in Roanoke, Va. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi business sorority. She is survived by daughters, Sharon Lawrence Finley and husband, Bill of Bloomington, Ind. and Robin Lawrence Hegner and husband, Joe of Midlothian, Va; three grandchildren, whom she adored, Holly Beth Mull of Mesa, Ariz., Ryan Lawrence Mull and wife, Lora of Fishers, Ind. and Michael Lawrence Hegner of Midlothian, Va; sister, Bessie Collins Crabtree of Panther, W.Va; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel in Roanoke on Friday, April 29, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Frank Feather will officiate. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel.
