She was born in Starke county, Ohio, Oct. 18, 1833, and had resided in this city since 1913, coming here from west of the city. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Poff, who died in 1913. Surviving are six children, Lydia Smith, of Ardmore, Ind., Mrs. Sarah Milliken, of Lydick, John W. Poff, of Muscatine, Ia., Mrs. Martha Stull, Walkerton, Charles E. Poff, of German township, and George Poff, of this city; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Poff was a member of the First Church of the Brethren. on March 11, 1925.⁵ She died on March 11, 1925 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 91.⁴

On May 14, 1882, she was united in marriage to Smith Milliken, who survives. Three sons, Ora Milliken, of Long Island, Ind., Clarence Milliken, of Warren township, and Albert Milliken, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Riner, of Crumstown, this county; seven grandchildren; three brothers, George and Ezra Potf, of South Bend, and John Poff of Muscatine, Is., and sister, Mrs. Lydia Smith, of Ardmore, this county, also survive. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant cemetery. She was a member of Lindley Arbor, Ancient Order of Gleaners. on December 21, 1928.³

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Esther Bahr of Muscatine and Mrs. Ralph McGill of Beaumont, Calif; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, two brothers and four sisters. Burial will be at Baptist Greenwood cemetery. on April 5, 1951.³

Born in South Manchester, Ind., June 1, 1859, he lived his entire life in this county. He was married in Lydick in 1930 to Rhoda Frances Johnson, who survives. Surviving also are three sons, Ora Milliken, Warren township; Clarence G. Milliken, Mishawaka, and Albert A. Milliken, Orlando, Fla; a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Riner, Mishawaka, a sister, Mrs. Jane Whitesel, Lydick, and a brother, Oliver Milliken, South Bend. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. in August, 1940.¹ He died on August 12, 1940 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 81.¹

She was preceded in death by a son, Keith, in 1959; a grandson, a great-grandson, two sisters and three brothers. on April 3, 1984.⁵

Interment will be at Greenwood cemetery. Mrs. Poff was born Oct. 26, 1867, at Tyner, Ind., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Barden. She had been a resident here the past 53 years and had made her home at 1008½ East Seventh street. She was married to John Wesley Poff on March 31, 1892, at Angus, Ind. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Esther Bahr of Muscatine and Mrs. Ralph McGill of Beaumont, Calif; two brothers, William O. Barden of Alice, Tex., Willis L. Barden of Haxtun, Colo; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Rosenfield of Billings, Mont., and Mrs. Minnie Johnston of Kimball, Nebr; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, one daughter in infancy and three sisters. on June 5, 1954.² She died on June 5, 1954 at Muscatine, Muscatine Co., Iowa, at age 86.^3,2

Maxine Rose McGill was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, 1814 Lucas Street, Muscatine, Muscatine Co., Iowa.^1,2,3 She was born on August 19, 1922 at Louisa Co., Iowa.^2,4,3 She died on November 11, 1922 at Muscatine, Muscatine Co., Iowa.² She Congestion of the lungs few hours caused the death of Maxine Rose McGill, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McGill of Muscatine Island at the home of its grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Poss, 815 East Ninth street, at 8:30 Saturday evening. The child caught cold several days before but nothing serious was anticipated until Saturday afternoon when congestion developed. The child was born August 19 and is survived by the parents, a brother, Warren, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Poss of this city and Mr. and Mrs. D. P. McGill, of Muscatine Island. Burial was made in Greenwood cemetery. on November 13, 1922.³
