Barker of Irnto, and John Morrison Barker of Java; one brother, Dorian Barker, and five grandchildren; a niece, Deborah, and a nephew, Steve, and many friends Graveside services will be conducted at Hillcrest Burial Park on Monday, March 3, at 3:00 p.m. with the Minister Terry W. Schultz officiating. Scott Funeral Home in Chatham is respectfully serving the Barker family. on March 3, 2008.2

Mr. Simmons, a native of Keelng, was born Dec. 6, 1907, and was a son of the late John B. Simmons and Mrs. Mary Alderson Simmons. Most of his life was spent in the Keeling community and he was a farmer. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Effie Newby Simmons of the home in Glenwood: two daughters, Miss Judy Simmons and Mrs. Betty Dix, both of Danville; three sons, Lonnie S. Simmons of the home, Edwin B. Simmons Danville and John T. Simmons of Greensboro, N.C; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Guill and Mrs. Nellie Ingram of Danville and Mrs. Nannie Richardson of Ringgold, one brother, Charlie Simmons of Keeling; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from Townes Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the family cemetery near Keeling. The remains will rest at Townes Funeral Home and the family will be at 665 Cardinal Place, Apt. 3. on December 7, 1962.3
