Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Ray Pitzer; two sons, Thomas Eugene "4X4" Pitzer and wife Amy of Green Valley, and Ray Jackson "Fat Jack" Pitzer Jr. and wife Rosemary of Princeton; one daughter, Sally Lewis and husband Jimmy of Green Valley; two grandsons, Robert Lee Pitzer and Ryan David Lee Lewis; one step grandson, Ben Hammond; one step granddaughter, Tonya Hammond; and three sisters, Wanda Clark and Minnie McQuire, both of Jacksonville, and Alma Moye of Princeton. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Home Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home, Princeton, with Rev. Paul Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. on June 24, 1999.1

Hagar, circa 1961.1,2 Ray Jackson Pitzer Sr. died on August 1, 2019 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 79.2 He Ray Jackson Pitzer, Sr., 79, of Bluefield died August 1, 2019 at the residence of his daughter. Born May 14, 1940 in Bluefield, WV he was the son of Ryan Mac Pitzer and Sallie Larue Pitzer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Della Mae Thomas Pitzer and his second wife, Georgia Pitzer; two sons, Thomas Eugene “4x4” Pitzer and Ray Jackson “Fat Jack” Pitzer. Before retirement Ray worked in Bluefield, WV as a heavy equipment mechanic, and had previously worked for Serge Diesel – Ken Carter Equipment and W&H Construction. Ray loved NASCAR racing and took great pride in and enjoyed his work. He loved his family and was a good family man. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his daughter, Sally Thomas and husband Carl of Green Valley; five grandchildren, Robert L. Pitzer, Benjamin Hammond, Tonya Blackburn, Ryan Lewis, Raylee Lewis, Donavon Thomas, and Melissa Osborn; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; daughters-in-law, Lady Rose Pitzer of Princeton and Miss Amy Pitzer of Princeton. A funeral service to celebrate Ray’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Eulogist Tigger Johnson. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with the Mercer County Veterans Council performing Military last rites. on August 2, 2019.2

     Thomas Eugene Pitzer was born on August 15, 1961 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.3 He married Amy Maria Elkins circa 1980.3 Thomas Eugene Pitzer died on July 5, 2017 at Matoaka, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 55.3 He Thomas Eugene Pitzer, 55, of Matoaka, died suddenly Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his home. While his health permitted, Mr. Pitzer was a diesel mechanic working on heavy equipment, having worked for Ken Carter Engines in Green Valley. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and horses, but most of all his three grandchildren whom he loved and adored with all his heart. Born August 15, 1961 in Princeton, he was the son of Ray Jackson Pitzer Sr. of Green Valley and the late Della Mae Thomas-Pitzer (1943-1999). In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Jackson “Fat Jack” Pitzer Jr. (1964-2009). Those left to cherish his memory, his devoted and caring wife of 37 years, Amy Maria Elkins-Pitzer; his son, Robert Lee Pitzer & wife Kellie Pitzer of Princeton; three grandchildren who loved their papaw, Jordyn Pitzer, Wyatt “Bubby” Pitzer, & Katie Mae Pitzer; his father Ray Jackson Pitzer Sr. & wife Georgia Lee Adkins-Pitzer (1936-2018) of Green Valley; sister, Sally Beatrice Pitzer-Carter of Green Valley; niece, Raylee Carter; nephew, Ryan Carter; sister-in-law, Rose Pitzer & children Ben Pitzer & Tonya Pitzer, all of Princeton. The family has honored Mr. Pitzer’s request, his body has been cremated. There will be no services or visitation. on July 6, 2017.3

Additional survivors include his wife Rosemary "Lady Rose" Booth Pitzer of Princeton; one daughter, Tonya "Baby Girl" Brookman and husband Jeffrey of Princeton; one son, Ben Hammond and wife Carla of Princeton; six grandchildren, Ricky "Monster" Nowlin, Michael "Sumu Baby" Nowlin, Brian "Hawghead" Dunn, Alan "Monkey" Blackburn, Blaze "Little Buddy" Brookman and Elysse Stanton; one brother, Thomas "4X4" Pitzer and wife Miss Amy and their son Robert Lee Stump all of Matoaka; one sister, Sally Lewis and husband Jimmy and their son Ryan Lewis all of Green Valley.
