Burial will be in the Mountain Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Hamblin apparently drowned Monday evening as she tried to drive her car across a flooded roadway on her way to an evacuation center in Broadway. She was born March 5, 1938, in Rockingham County and was a daughter of Ivy Blanche Roadcap Dove of Life and Care Center in New Market and the late Homer V. Dove. Mrs. Hamblin was a production worker for Rocco Inc., and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Timberville. On July 29, 1975 (actually 1976), she married John J. Hamblin Jr., who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Michael V. and Marcus H. Dove, both of Miami, and Stephen R. Shifflett, of Anson, Texas, a brother. Alden Dove, of Timberville, and three sisters, Goldie Spitzer, and Dorothy Kinkead, both of Harrisonburg, and Nona Fulk, of Fulks Run. on November 7, 1985.²
