The service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Condo & Son Funeral Home, Wilkinson. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown. on September 5, 1984.⁸

A brother, James Snodgress, died in 1984. on February 15, 1985.⁴

     Floyd Emery Bailey was buried at Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown, Henry Co., Indiana.^2,3 He married Miriam LaVaughn Snodgress, daughter of Urban Taylor Snodgress and Margaret Mae Madison.^1,2,4 Floyd Emery Bailey was born on March 8, 1921 at Owingsville, Bath Co., Kentucky.^1,2,5,3,6,7 He died on December 22, 2006 at Indianapolis, Marion Co., Indiana, at age 85.^2,5,3,6 He Floyd Emery Bailey, 85, was called home to his final rest Friday, December 22nd at Lakeview Manor in Indianapolis. Born March 8, 1921 in Bath County, Kentucky, Floyd was the fifth of seven brothers, sons of Anna and Emmet Bailey. After the family moved to Indiana in 1929, Floyd attended Spiceland schools, married the lovely LaVaughn Snodgress of Knightstown and raised four children in New Castle. He played semiprofessional baseball and worked in the Chrysler factory in New Castle until World War II. When his country called, he joined the Navy as a machinist's mate serving on an LST in the Pacific Theater. Following the war, Floyd returned to his family and his work at Chrysler, retiring in 1973 after more than thirty years as a die sinker. He was a devoted husband, father and doting grandfather. He follows his wife LaVaughn; daughter, Linda Wheeler; grandson, Kurt Wheeler and five of his six brother's home to rest. His life will be celebrated by his three sons, Gene of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jim of Alamosa, Colorado; Ronnie of Atlanta, Georgia and Linda's husband, Ronnie Wheeler, of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is also remembered by his brother, Pete of Indianapolis; his remaining grandchildren, Karen, Pam, Brad, Garon, Rusty, Brian, Zane, Laura, Katie. There remains a large family of great grandchildren and a great great grandchild touched and inspired by Floyd's life. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson, IN with Cindy Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of Choice. on December 24, 2006.²

Additional survivors include a daughter, Karen Chapman; brothers, Gene Bailey of Colorado Springs, Colorado, James Bailey of Alamosa, Colorado, and Ronald Bailey of Sharpsburg, Georgia; and a grandson, David Chapman. Preceding her in death was a son, Kurt Wheeler. Services are 11 a.m. January 4 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home, 600 S. Main Street, New Castle. Interment will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Calling is an hour prior to services at Macer-Hall Funeral Home. Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg handled arrangements here. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. on January 4, 2006.⁵

He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a 4-year Navy veteran. He attended Chabot College, Hayward, Calif. Surviving are his parents; a sister, Karen Chapman, New Castle; his grandfather, Floyd Bailey, New Castle, and a nephew, David Chapman, New Castle. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Hostetler Funeral Home, Rev. J. Stanley Banker officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown. on April 29, 1989.³
