     Lawrence Edward "Larry" McLeod was born on September 6, 1949 at Prince George Co., Virginia.2,3,5 He married Pamela Louise Gray on December 31, 1973 at Chesterfield Co., Virginia.2 Lawrence Edward "Larry" McLeod and Pamela Louise Gray were divorced on September 29, 1988 at Chesterfield Co., Virginia.5 Lawrence Edward "Larry" McLeod died on May 27, 2011 at Hopewell, Virginia, at age 61.1,4 He Lawrence E. "Larry" McLeod, 61, of Chester, Va., passed away at John Randolph Hospital from an extended illness on May 27, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Golden E. McLeod and Ruth L. McLeod of Hopewell, Va. He is survived by his daughter, Stacey M. Joyner and husband, Michael of Henrico, Va; a sister, Jane M. Horner and husband, Steve of Disputanta, Va; a niece, Amy Horner of Disputanta, Va; a nephew, Wyatt Horner and wife Amanda of Senoia, Ga; a great-niece and two great-nephews, and countless devoted friends. Larry retired from Philip Morris as a senior mechanical designer. He was also an accomplished musician. His love of music led to his participation in many local bands throughout his lifetime. Larry had a deep love of animals. He never met a stray cat he wasn't willing to take in. Larry's family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to Kevin Doane, Cindy Gray, Allison Gray, and Donnie Hicks for their support, comfort, and assistance throughout Larry's illness. A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopewell Humane Society, 3412 Oaklawn Blvd. Hopewell, VA 23860. on May 29, 2011.1

He was born April 12, 1936 in Clifton Forge, a son of the late William Edward Dodd, Sr. and the late Mary Newcomb Dodd. He was a retired brakeman for CSX Transportation with over 47 years of service, a member of the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge, and a regular at the Bachelor's Dinner Table in the Cafeteria at LewisGale-Alleghany Medical Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Dodd Hall and his lifelong companion, Martha L. VanBuren. He is survived by a daughter, Anita Boone and husband, Rob of Covington; a step-daughter, Eugenia Nicely of Iron Gate; a step-son, Michael VanBuren, Sr. of Richmond; a sister, Mary Vess of Alleghany County; a granddaughter, Megan Boone of Covington; a grandson, Israel Boone of Roanoke; 3 step-grandsons, Michael VanBuren, Jr. and Joshua VanBuren of Williamsburg, and Travis Nicely of Iron Gate; a great-granddaughter, Reagan Paitsel, of Covington; a step-great-granddaughter, Harmony Van Buren of Williamsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, with the Reverend Mike Fleenor officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park in Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Harvey VanBuren, Ronald May, E.C. Hancock, 98, of Pine Meadow Assisted Living, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at the care facility in Woodstock. Mrs. Hancock was born May 26, 1906, in Shenandoah County, the daughter of the late John William and Mary Elizabeth Funkhouser Wetzel. She was a homemaker and member of Community Mission Church of the Brethren in Shenandoah County. She was the wife of the late Russell Hancock. Surviving are a daughter, Arlene L. Ramey of Luray; three brothers, Glenn J. Wetzel Sr. of Front Royal, Lloyd W. Wetzel and Floyd W. Wetzel, both of Woodstock; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted Tuesday, March 29, at Riverview Cemetery in Strasburg by the Rev. Howard Lutz. Arrangements by Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg. on March 31, 2005.1
