Carter, at the American Aniline Products Inc., in Lock Haven until his retirement three years ago, died at 8:30 a.m. today in the Lock Haven Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Carter was a patient five weeks in John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, and able to be home only three days until he was re-admitted to the Lock Haven Hospital about two weeks ago. He was a World War I veteran of U.S. Navy service, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the World War I veterans. He belonged to the Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Ione Lindsey Carter, a son, Richard, Beech Creek; and daughter, Mrs. Joanne Hemmis, Allentown; four grandchildren, and two brothers, Chades D. Carter, Lock Haven, and Leslie, Mingoville. on February 10, 1966.3 He died on February 10, 1966 at Lock Haven, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania, at age 68.2,3,5

She was born on March 27, 1927 in Howard to Arthur D. and E. Mae (Lomison) Strunk. On January 17 1948, she married her lifelong partner, Richard "Dick" Carter. He preceded her in death in 2002. She was a stay-at-home mom until her daughters were grown when she went to work for Keystone Central School District as part-time custodian at the former Beech Creek Elementary School. She was a longtime member of Howard Christian Church and was one of the first "Tent" mothers at Sylvan Hills Christian Camp. Surviving are her daughters; Sharyn (Donald) Thomas of Beech Creek, and Donia (David) Bodle of Rote, a sister; Shirley Peters of Exton. Also surviving the light of her life her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Michele (James) Stahl and Their sons; Matt, Greg and Kyle, Joshua (Ryaan) Bodle and their son Ty and Scott (Lori) Bodle and their children; Haley and Gavin. She is also survived by sisters-in-law; Joanne (Jack) Hemmis of Orefield and Shirley Strunk of Howard, brother-in-law; Arthur Workman of Howard, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Leroy "Gib" Strunk and Edward Strunk, her sisters; Audrey Long, Iris Workman, and Faye Jeannette Strunk. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public viewing.      Barbara Ann Lindsey On Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, Barbara Ann Ohl, loving wife, mother of three children, and grandmother of six children, passed away at the age of 88. Barbara was born on Dec. 14, 1930, in Lock Haven to Robert Charles Franklin and Nellie Johnson Lindsey née Bickel. Raised in Woolrich, she graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1948. On March 6, 1951, Barbara married the love of her life, Henry Richard “Dick” Ohl. They raised three children in Woolrich: Robert, William “Carey” and Julie Ohl. She was a member of Woolrich United Methodist Church and worked as a seamstress at the Woolrich Woolen Mills and later at the Woolrich Outlet. Barbara was an avid outdoorswoman, passing her love of hunting and fishing on to her children and grandchildren. She also loved the Philadelphia Phillies, birdwatching, and sewing – and could often be found knitting together hats and gloves for family members and new additions to the community. Before her husband Dick passed away, the two spent every Saturday taking day trips around Pennsylvania – always taking the back road so they could spend quality time and marvel at the sights. In her earlier years, Barbara loved to bowl, participating in leagues in Woolrich, Linden and Dunnstown. She was known for her unconditional kindness, quick wit and fondness for long chats on her front porch swing. Barbara loved having her family at the house and always had ready lots of food, tales of her mischievous childhood growing up in Woolrich and jokes that had the entire room laughing. She will be remembered for her big heart and infectious smile. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, and her brother, Ronald W. Lindsey. She is survived by: her son Robert and his wife Cindy, née Wise, and their two sons Jon and Zachary; her son Carey and his wife Diana, née Roth, and their two children Alissa and Brice; and her daughter Julie and her husband Jeffrey Bucks and their two children Lindsey and William Robert. Also surviving is a brother, Joseph Lindsey.3 She was born on December 14, 1930 at Lock Haven, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania.3 As of March 6, 1951,her married name was Ohl.3 She married Henry Richard “Dick” Ohl on March 6, 1951.3 Barbara Ann Lindsey died on December 23, 2018 at Lock Haven, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania, at age 88.3

Carter, daughter of Harold Clyde Carter and Alma Ione Lindsey, in July, 1958.1,2 John B. "Jack" Hemmis died on January 2, 2018 at Orefield, Lehigh Co., Pennsylvania, at age 82.2,3 He John B. "Jack" Hemmis, 82 years, of Orefield passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at home. He was the husband of Joanne L. (Carter) Hemmis for 60 years last July. Born in Morrisdale, PA he was the son of the late Agnes Miller. He was a toolmaker for the former Western Electric Co., the former AT&T Co., which then became Lucent Technologies. Jack retired from Lucent after 44 and Vi years in January of 2000. He held various positions with Local 1522 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Jack was a member of the American Legion Post 576 in Allentown and served in the United States Naval Reserves from 1952 to 1962. He served on the Advisory Board for Lehigh County Vocational School, was on the Board of Directors for both the Lehigh County United Way and Senior Citizens of Lehigh County, and was the Vice President of the Lehigh Northampton Labor Council for many years. Jack was a member of the Emmaus Masonic Lodge 792 F.&A.M. where he served as past Master twice. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Lehigh Consistory, Allentown. Jack loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, and spending time at his cabin. He was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church in Orefield. Survivors: wife, Joanne, son Scott and wife Tammy of Slatington, daughter Denise Klinefelter and husband Randy of Allentown, grandchildren, Kaitlin and Jacob Hemmis and Lyndsey McGrevy and husband Brendan and Jon Klinefelter, great granddaughter, Madison. Services: Private Services. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., Fogelsville with the Rev. Dody S. Siegfried officiating. Interment, Jordan Lutheran Cemetery. on January 4, 2018.2
