She and her husband Thomas had maintained several businesses in Mount Vernon including Woosley’s Marathon on West High Street and Woosley’s Rentals. Joan loved the outdoors, working in her flower gardens and watching the deer and birds in her back yard. She especially enjoyed Christmas time and the gathering of her family. Surviving are her husband Thomas V. Woosley Sr. whom she married July 18, 1965; her daughter Deborah (Steven) Darling of Apple Valley; her son Michael Barton of Virginia; step daughter Tammy (Ronald) Orsborn of Mount Vernon; three stepsons Thomas V. Woosley Jr. and Todd (Judy) Woosley both of Mount Vernon and Tim (Beckie) Woosley of Panama City, Florida; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Besides her parents a brother and sister preceded her in death. Friends may call Monday from 5pm to 7pm at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Tuesday at 10am.      Dewey Roosevelt Barton was born on May 18, 1933 at Buchanan Co., Virginia.1,2,3 He married Emily Gail Breeding, daughter of Robey Ehose/Ehonse Breeding and Louise Virginia James, on October 17, 1952 at Grundy, Buchanan Co., Virginia.1 Dewey Roosevelt Barton died on March 4, 2015 at DeLand, Volusia Co., Florida, at age 81.3 He Dewey Rossevelt Barton, born May 18, 1933 in Buchanan County, Virginia to Clarence and Almeda (Lester) Barton, died Wednesday, March 4th, age 81, at Alliance Retirement and Nursing Facility in Deland, FL under the loving care of Alliance staff, employees and outstanding caregivers with Gentiva Hospice. Mr. Barton honorably served on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States from July 31, 1953 until June 8, 1955. He was always aware of his duty and responsibilities not only to his family and friends but to his country of which he proudly fought for our freedom for over two years. Dewey then entered one of our nations hardest fields working as a coal miner employed as a heavy equipment operator. He received a "Certificate of Outstanding Service" awarded by his employer Harman Mining Corporation after giving them his loyal and dedicated service for over 20 years. While working as a coal miner, Dewey met his second wife, Sandra Starmer. They married on Sept. 14, 1966. In addition to marrying Sandra, he took on the care and responsibility of her three young children, Rebecca, Anna and Win. After 16 years of raising the children, he retired from the coal mines and he and his wife Sandra moved from Virginia to Florida. Dewey then took up one of his favorite hobbies fixing landscape equipment, i.e. lawn-mowers. He continued to help support he and his wife as they entered into their Golden years. Some of Dewey's other hobbies and great loves were hunting (esp. groundhogs!) and fishing of any kind! Dewey is survived by his loving wife Sandra of 48 years, his brother and wife W.C. and Patty Barton, his children Deborah Barton Darling (Steve), Michael Barton, Rebecca Williams (Keith), Anna Price (Elmer), Winford Geary (Patty), four grandchildren and one great grandchild. on March 8, 2015.3

He was born on March 21, 1940 in South Charleston, OH, a son of the late Robert and Audrey (Leach) Woosley. Tom was the owner/operator of several full service gas stations in Mount Vernon back when full service was the standard and he enjoyed providing service to his customers and could always be seen hustling from one customer to the next. He also worked for the former PPG Industries and Ellis Brothers Concrete in Mount Vernon. Tom enjoyed working in his yard and feeding the deer. He also loved to travel and visiting his family in Florida. Tom will be remembered for his big heart, he was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. Tom is survived by his children, Thomas Woosley Jr. of Mount Vernon, Tammy (Ronald) Orsborn of Mount Vernon, Tim (Becky) Woosley of Panama City, FL; Todd (Judy) Woosley of Mount Vernon; stepchildren, Deborah (Steven) Darling of Howard and Michael Barton of Vansant, Virginia; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Rosalind Shipley of Newark; and a loving friend, Estelle. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Emily G. “Joan” Woosley on August 21, 2008; and brothers, William, Richard, James, Joe, and John Woosley. Henry is survived by his daughter, Brenda Watson and her husband Steve of Bluefield; and nephews, Sidney Trump of Grand Blanc, Mich., Larry Trump of Goldsboro, N.C. and Haswell Trump of Wyandotte, Mich. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Princeton, W.Va. where friends and family members will serve as pallbearers. on December 26, 2011.10

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Packerton Free United Baptist Church, Packerton, Ind. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. on July 16, 1992.1
