Survivors include his wife, Catherine Gray Briscoe; a daughter, Dana Briscoe Robinette and her husband, Joseph Rector Robinette, of Bristol; a son, Cary Gray Briscoe of Bristol; three granddaughters, Catherine Dana Robinette and her husband, Hayden Reign Phillips, Jane Elizabeth Briscoe and Courtney Shannon Briscoe; two grandsons, Joseph Judge Robinette and his wife, Michelle Anne Broglio, and Dan Briscoe Robinette; two great granddaughters, Briscoe Noell Robinette and Mason Cella Robinette; and a daughter-in-law, Joy Graceffo. He was preceded in death by a son, David Edward Briscoe. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 4:30 P.M. Friday at the graveside in Glenwood Cemetery with Dr. Gordon Turnbull officiating. Friends and family are invited to the home of Dana and Joe Robinette from 5 until 7 P.M. Friday. Memorial contributions may be sent to Healing Hands Health Care, 210 Memorial Drive, Bristol, Tennessee 37620. The Briscoe Family is in the care of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home and Crematory, 2223 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, Tennessee.

Edward Newton Henry, 22, USMCR, husband of the former Roma Fern Tobias of Woolrich, was killed in action on Okinawa on May 10, according to a Navy Department telegram received yesterday by his wife. He had been fighting in Northern Okinawa until the Sixth Marine Division was called into the campaign for Naha in Southern Okinawa. Pfc. Henry, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Henry of Vesper St., was graduated from the Lock Haven School in 1940 and from the Mansfield Teachers College in 1943. He was music supervisor of the Falls Creek Schools until he entered the Marine Corps on Dec. 13, 1943, after enlisting in November. He trained at Parris Island, SC, where later he served also as a drill instructor. In May, 1944, he was assigned to New River, NC. He went overseas last November. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, a three year old son, Patrick Edward, who lives with Mrs. Henry’s mother, Mrs. Ebernz Tobias in Woolrich. While in school here, Henry was a former trumpet player in the Lock Haven High School Band. on May 19, 1945.2
