     Eileen F. Lauer Eileen F. (Lauer) Work, 80, of Erie, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Hamot Medical Center. She was born on February 12, 1928 in Marble, Pa., a daughter of the late Ambrose W. and Lucy M. (Schmader) Lauer. Eileen was a graduate of Academy High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert H. Work, who died on May 25, 1995. Two sisters, Genevieve Bemim and Edna Whiting and two brothers, Dennis A. Lauer and James Lauer. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Cristea and her husband, John of Warren, Pa. and Janet Gillies and her husband, Chuck of Erie. Four sons, Robert D. Work and his friend, Paul Borella of Pittsburgh, Pa., Jeffrey Work and his wife, Nancy of Independence, Ky., Mark Work and his wife, Debbie of Lake Ariel, Pa. an Daniel Work of Portland, Oregon. Nine grandchildren, Cristopher Cristea, Melissa Hale, Sebastian Cristea, Joshua Gillies, Nathan Gillies, Emily Dorsey, Jessica Work, Tiffany Work and Jamie Work. Nine Great grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan, Cassie, Isaiah, Lauren Dezmin, Reece, Ava and Alexander. A sister, Anna Rose Schupp of Erie and a brother, Martin Lauer and his wife, Ann of San Angelo, Texas. A sister-in-law Jean Lauer, and many nieces and nephews. Her cat, Casper. Friends may call at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St. on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial may be made to Elmwood Presbyterian Lodge, 2628 Elmwood Ave., Erie, PA 16508 or the Humane Society, 2707 Interchange Rd., Erie, PA 16506.1

     Donald Edward Kidman Jr. was buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 4523 Love Road, Millcreek Township, Erie Co., Pennsylvania.3 He was born in 1942.3 He died on October 21, 1946 at Tonawanda, Erie Co., New York.2 He Tonawanda, Oct. 22 - Funeral services were arranged today for Donald Kidman, 4, who lost his llfe in an attempt to crawl through a playhouse window. Police said the child was strangled when he became wedged in the 14-inch opening, about four feet from the ground, while at play yesterday in a neighbor's backyard. The victim's father, Charles E. Kidman, happened upon the tragedy last night after he joined neighborhood searching parties for Donald who had been missing since early afternoon. Kidman unsuccessfully attempted to revive his son, whose head and arms were dangling inside the playhouse. A pail on which young Donald apparently had stood to reach the small aperture lay overturned on the ground outside below his limp legs.
Medical Examiner Rocco N. DeDominiels, who issued a certificate of accidental death, said the boy had been lifeless for several hours. on October 22, 1946.4

Mrs. Slauson had been in the real estate business in Orlando for the past 15 years, and she and her late husband, Don W. Slauson, were active in the development of the area west of Orlando. A native of Marionville, Pa., she came to Orlando in 1942. She was a member of the Winter Park chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and chaplain of the Orlando Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution She also belonged to the Orlando Board of Realtors and the Business and Professional Women's Club. Surviving are a son, E. George White, Waycross, Ga; her mother, Mrs. Cora Hall Sutton, Port Tobacco Md; sisters, Mrs. Leon Brown, Braemer, Tenn., Mrs. Howard Slauson and Mrs. William B. Caldwell, both of Orlando, Mrs. Henry Broom DeMott and Mrs. George Van Veer, both of Port Tobacco, and Mrs. Joel Belknap, Charleston, W. Va; brother, Harry L. Sutton, Orange, Tex., and four grandchildren. Fairchild Funeral Home is in charge. on November 20, 1961.5 She died on November 20, 1961 at Orlando, Orange Co., Florida, at age 67.5,9,7
