     John Bain Martin John Bain Martin, the son of John William Martin and Esther Henry Martin, and for years a resident of Summerville, died in his home here on Tuesday following an illness of over nine weeks. Mr. Martin was born in Clarion county sixty-eight years ago. On August 28, 1878 he married Margaret Hulings in Clarion, Pa. To this union the following sons and daughters were born: Thomas, of Sheffield; Molly of Clarion; William of Brockway; Mrs. Tom Shea, of Valencia; Mrs. S. R. Madil, of Summerville; Mabel Jones of Denver; Fred, of Buffalo; Arthur of Summerville. Three children having preceded their father in death. He also leaves his wife, Margaret Hulings Martin and a brother, W. A.2 He was born on April 8, 1858 at Limestone, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.4 He married Margaret Ellen "Maggie" Hulings, daughter of John Hulings and Mary Ann Walters, on August 28, 1878 at Clarion, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania; Margaret's obituary has a marriage date of Aug 19, 1878.2,4,3,5 John Bain Martin died on October 26, 1926 at Summerville, Jefferson Co., Pennsylvania, at age 68.2,3,4

Mrs. Cunniff was a charter member and past president of the Cedar Grove Senior Citizens. Surviving are her husband Emmett; a son Leo; a daughter Mrs. Jeanne Feeney both of Cedar Grove; and two sisters, Miss Orpha Martin and Mrs. Mildred Swanson both of Jamestown, New York. Mrs; Cunniff is also survived by seven grandchildren. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair. on August 23, 1973.4

Eisenmnan passed away at his home at Saybrook last evening at 7:45 o’clock, after a prolonged illness, aged 57 years. He was formerly a resident of Strattanville, Clarion county, living in Saybrook for the past eight years. He leaves his wife, one son, William T., of Oil City: two brothers, H. R. Eisenman, of Strattanville, and B. W. Eisenman, of Falls Creek; four sisters, Mrs. G. F. Banner, Fryburg; Miss Bertha Eisenman, of Strattanville; Mrs. Charles Whipple, of California, and Mrs. Charles H. Hargenmader, of Oil City. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and a failthful member of the Sheffield I. O. O. F. Following a short prayer service at the home Friday morning at 9 o’clock, the body will be taken to Strattanville and services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Asbury M. E. church. Rev. Driscoll, of Starbrick, will officiate and interment will be in the Asbury cemetery. on November 12, 1930.4

She was also a member of the Clarion Hospital Auxiliary and the WCTU. Surviving in addition to her husband, are three sons, Francis B., Walter of Louisville, Ky., Dr. Nelson J. Walter of Clarion; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Guthrie of Los Angeles; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ocie Shea of Allison Park and Mrs. Elva Catharine Himes of Corsica, and two brothers, Arthur H. Martin of Summerville and Thomas W. Martin of Sheffield. One daughter died in infancy. Friends are being received at the family residence at 833 Main St., where funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday. Rev. James Cox, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Clarion, and Rev. W. R. Ross, retired Methodist minister of Clarion, will officiate. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Fisher. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Goble Funeral Home, Clarion. on January 23, 1965.1

Walter, 90, former owner and operator of a feed mill on Liberty St., Clarion, and pioneer lumberman and raftsman in Clarion County, died at 4:08 a.m. Friday (Nov. 5) in his home at 333 E. Main St., Clarion. Born at Gravel Lick January 28, 1875, he was a son of Frank and *Sarah Ann (Sally)Smith Walter*. He was married October 8, 1904 to *Molly A. Martin*. She died January 1965. Mr. Walter was a member of the First Methodist Church in Clarion. He resided in Fisher for a number of years, than moved to Strattanville where he entered the coal mining business. He was one of the pioneers in road building, in Western Pennsylvania. He moved to Clarion 45 years ago and established the feed mill business there. He had operated a general store in Strattanville before moving to Clarion. He is survived by three sons, F. B. Walter of Louisville, Ky., Dr. N. J. Walter of Coral Gables, Fla., and Arthur L. Walter of Kittanning; a daughter, Mrs. Helen W. Guthrie of Los Angeles, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Inez McKindrey of New Kensington, and five grandchildren. Removal was made to the Glove Funeral Home in Clarion where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. James Cox, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Clarion, will officiate, with Rev. W. R. Ross of Clarion, a retired Methodist minister, assisting in the service. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Fisher. on November 6, 1965.2

Mr. Norris was a World War II Army veteran, and was a retired supervisor from Armco Steel in Butler Township, where he worked for 40 years. He was a life member of the Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the National Rifle Association and of Trout Unlimited. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He also volunteered at Mars High School, helping in the wood shop. He was a member of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Eileen) Maier of Crown Point, Ind; a son, David G. Norris and his wife Lynn of Valencia; two sisters, Marian Kennihan of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Morris (Helen) Schroeder of State College; three grandchildren, A. Jay and John L. Maier and Tammy Reynolds; and five great-grandchildren, Nate and Matthew Reynolds, and Colin, Luke and Bryce Maier. He is also survived by his second wife, Maxine Irwin Norris. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy A. Shea Norris, whom he married Nov. 7, 1942, and who died June 24, 1983. Three brothers also preceded him in death. NORRIS - Friends of Emmett L. Norris, who died Saturday, May 15, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 until time of service at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Service will follow at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Wiest, pastor of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Rd., Valencia, PA 16059. on May 16, 2004.6
