He was a member of Harbor View Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Virginia C. Thomas of Charleston, a daughter, Elinor T. Boone (Randy) of Charleston, a granddaughter, Aubrey P. Glendenning (Dustin) of Chicago, a brother, Robert E. Thomas (Martha) of Ramseur, North Carolina, and a niece, Amy Petty (Glenn) of Warrenton, Virginia. on July 7, 2019.²
