     Robert Lindsay Thomas Robert Lindsay Thomas, 59, of Vinton, died in Citrus Springs, Florida on Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was born on Sept. 21, 1953 to parents, Ruth Gray Thomas and Jack Thomas. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Thomas, paternal grandparents, Lyda Spurlock Thomas and Walter Thomas; maternal grandparents, Mary Newman Gray and Mose Gray; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Survivors are his mother, Ruth Gray Thomas; sister, Vickie Thomas Bowen and husband, Ken; daughters, Jacklyn Thomas of Vinton, Tristina Wooden of Roanoke, Desiree’ Thomas Fiorillo, of NJ and Mindy Thomas Odai and husband, Mike of CA; niece and husband, Mary Beth and Dr. Jeffrey Goode of Huddleston; nephews, Byron Penick and Beckett Goode; special friends, Tommy Stephenson, Gary Lester, Kelly Thierry, Rob and Susan Lipes, George Paddee, of Texas. Bob graduated from Christchurch School, VA, Selwyn Academy, Denton, Texas and attended North Texas University, Texas. Light and wife, Berniece, of Forest Hill, W.Va; sister, Irene Waldron, of Roanoke; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. T.G. Ayers. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
