He was a carpenter by occupation and an employee of the state highway department for the last 12 years before his retirement. Mr. Bragg was born June 12, 1884, in Huntington County to Harrison and Caroline Bragg. He married Mrs. Lula Carpenter May 3, 1934. Surviving are the widow, a son, Charles Bragg of Huntington; five step-children, Carl Slagel, Framingham, Mass., Mrs. Russell (Rosa) Keefer, Huntington, James Slagel, Waynedale, Fred Carpenter, Huntington, and Irvin Carpenter, Auburn; three grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren and and a brother, Marvin Bragg, Merrill, Wis. A stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruth Bradfield and a grandson are dead. Friends may call after Tuesday Noon in the Bailey Mortuary where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Ruben A. Stauss officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Etna Cemetery. on September 24, 1962.3

His marriage was Nov. 6, 1965, in Huntington, to the former Vivian I. Shock. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Charles E. Bragg of Etna Green; a daughter, Tina Strayer of Indianapolis; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a brother, Irvin Carpenter of Auburn. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Whilder; three brothers, Garl Slagel, James Slagel, and Fred Carpenter; and two sisters, Rosie Carpenter and Ruth Carpenter. Calling is Monday from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral service at Bailey-Love Mortuary. A private family burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County. on February 2, 2008.5

Also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born on Nov. 17, 1951 in Huntington, a son of Ovid L. and Esther M. (Van Meter) Lahr. Survivors include a son, Jerry W. Lahr of Warren; a daughter, Rennae L. (Jake) Dangerfield of Huntington; two brothers, Donald A. (Melissa) Lahr of Huntington; Richard (Vicki) Lahr of Markle: a sister, Cindy (John) McKinzie of Huntington; one grand-daughter, Sapphire Dangerfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ovid L. and Esther M. Lahr. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Salamonie Church of the Brethren, 2662 W. 600 S. Warren with Rev. Mel Zumbrun officiating. Memorial donations can be made to The Family of Jerry L. Lahr in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St. , Huntingto n , IN 46750 . on June 1, 2010.3
