In addition to his wife, Mr. Giles is survived by five sons, Carl "Butch" Deaton of Valdosta, Ga., Michael Giles of Atlanta, Ga., Dennis Deaton, of Luray, Samuel "Buck" Roach of Strasburg, Justin "Bubba" Correa of Elkton; seven daughters, Maureen Giles Estes of Front Royal, Robin Huffman of Strasburg, Theresa "Terri" Roach of Shenandoah, April Cubbage and husband, Ronnie, of Stanley, Alkini Williams and husband, Curtis, of Nokesville, Olivia Meadows and husband, Jared, of Elkton, and Jasma Bowman of Elkton; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah Smith and Teresa Blakely; two brothers, Billy Giles and James Giles; and a sister, Betty Chieppa. Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton. on February 4, 2011.³

Mrs. Redmond, daughter of the late Alma Bernice Hodges Drews and Benjamin William Drews, was born in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Sunday school class. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Trent Redmond, Valerie C. Redmond, and Joy C. Collins (Marty); her grandchildren, Kati Venable (Chris), Aaron E. Cooper, Kyle Collins (Johanna), and Andrea Cooper; her great grandchild, Ellie Venable; her sister in law Barbara Drews; and numerous nieces and nephews.² Her married name was Redmond.² She married Rev.      Herbert Douglas Gilliam Herbert Douglas “Butch” Gilliam, age 76, of Blue Ridge, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 25, 2019. Butch was a Christian and served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Services in Vietnam. He retired from Norfolk Southern Communications Control Center and was a local pilot. Butch was a member of Lakeland Masonic Lodge #190 AF &AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Kazim Shrine Temple. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E #194 and the American Legion Post #80 in Vinton. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Otis M. Gilliam II and Mary Schwarzell Gilliam; a brother, Otis M. “George” Gilliam, III; an uncle, Herbert E. Gilliam and his best buddy, his dachshund, Jake. Surviving are a nephew, Andrew Gardner Gilliam and a niece, Mary Margaret Gilliam, as well as many friends. She was an avid bowler, she loved bowling with her husband. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen J.
