Mr. Long’s most treasured hobby was showing border cheviot sheep across the eastern United States, and was most noted locally for having shown these sheep for 60 consecutive years at the West Virginia State Fair. Homer is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Edith Wilson Long; two daughters, Linda Stimpson and Judy Booth; grandsons, David Furrow, Steve Johnston and Greg Booth; granddaughters, Pam Dransfield and Sharon Booth; great-grandsons, Brennan Furrow, Devon Dransfield, and Ian Dransfield; great-granddaughters, Ashley Hardymon, Amy Johnston and Melissa Johnston and great-great-grandson, Jackson Miller.
