     Mary Susan "Suzie" Finney was buried at Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery, intersection of Rt. 643 & Rt. 739, Franklin Co., Virginia.¹ She was born on August 9, 1946 at Bluestone, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^1,2 As of August 27, 1966,her married name was Snead.² She married Thomas Gary "Tommy" Snead, son of Howard William Snead and Christine Rosebud Gearheart, on August 27, 1966 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2 Mary Susan "Suzie" Finney died on January 25, 1990 at Virginia at age 43.¹ She CALLAWAY - Mary Susan (Suzie) Finney Snead of Callaway was born August 9, 1946, and died on January 25, 1990 in a local hospital after a long battle with cancer. She was a member of the Fairmont Baptist Church in Boones Mill. Surviving are her husband, Thomas G. Snead; one son, Alex Snead; two daughters, Stacy Snead, Emily Snead, all of the home; her father, McNeal Finney, Roanoke; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Debbie Finney, Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law, Tondra and Doug Blevins, Simpsonville, S.C; a nephew, Neal Finney; nieces, Michelle Finney, Nikki Blevins; several friends, Imma Lawless, Ruth Lawless, Davia Flora, Mary Lee Brubaker, Jerri Webster; "two very good Buddies", Sandy Webster, Diane Holt. Graveside services will be at the Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery at Boones Mill, 2:00 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Scott Davis officiating. There will be a memorial service Saturday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fairmont Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, the Roanoke City Rescue Mission, the Suzie Snead Memorial Youth Fund at Fairmont Baptist Church, or a favorite charity. The family will receive friends Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel. on January 27, 1990.¹

Jean was a faithful member of The Church of God for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mildred (Sis) Wiseman; her first husband, Charles E. Sledd Sr; and her daughter, Selena Sledd Huddleston. Surviving are her son, Charles E. Sledd Jr (Robyn); daughter, Amanda Sledd Kesler (David); son, David Gearheart II; seven grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Lyle (Carl) and Connie Mabry; one brother, Barry Wiseman; and husband of 39 years, David Gearheart I. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, from Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Bishop Billy Cox, Bishop Lanny Carter, and the Reverend Connie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. on March 24, 2019.²

     Harold Stephenson "Steve" Hale Sr. was born on July 30, 1932 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^2,3,4 He married Lois Dean Gearheart, daughter of Alfred Clarence Gearheart and Oakey Marie Horsley, on December 24, 1950 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,2 Harold Stephenson "Steve" Hale Sr. and Lois Dean Gearheart were divorced on August 4, 1958 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁵ Harold Stephenson "Steve" Hale Sr. died on January 24, 2018 at Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia, at age 85.⁴ He Harold Stephenson (Steve) Hale, 85 of Boones Mill, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 30, 1932 a son of the late Joseph C. Hale and Katie Richardson Fields. He was also preceded in death by a son, Stevie Hale. He retired with 30 years of service as Terminal Manager with Overnite Transportation. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Betty Lou Menefee Hale; other family members and friends.
