They moved to Fort Mohave in 1971 after Floyd retired. Elsie is survived by her son, James (Nora) Murphey of Chino Valley; sister, Fay Webster of Cottonwood; grandchildren, Jackie (David) Brent of Chino Valley, Burt Murphey of Kirkland, Ariz., Wanda (Lonnie) Bennett of Los Luna, N.M., Audra (Tom) Bowers of Kingman and Beverly (David) Horn of Nacogdoches, Texas. Elsie had 13 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Floyd Murphey; son, Raymond Murphey; parents, Edward and Ivy (Brooks) Walker; sisters, Margie, Enid, Dorothy; and brothers, Ted and Robert. Elsie will always be remembered for her wonderful laugh and sense of humor. She always loved a good joke. The family would like to say thank you very much to The Gardens Care Center in Kingman for taking such loving care of our beloved mother/grandmother, Elsie, for the past six years. A very special thank you to the staff that loved Elsie the most. You know who you are! Funeral arrangements are by Desert Lawn Funeral Home. Viewing will be at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 on Saturday, Oct. 31. Burial will be at Desert Lawns Memorial Gardens, 9250 S. Rancho Lane, Mohave Valley. on October 30, 2009.3

Marjorie was born Aug. 8, 1913, in Prescott, on Montezuma Street, the daughter of Edward Mead Walker and Ivy Eloise Brooks. She was a member of the Hillside Church. Survivors include her children; daughters, Mohea (Tim) Whitaker of Nevada, Donna (John) Wagner of Williams, Ariz., Karen (Bill) Fuller of Green Valley, Ariz., Sharon (Johnny) Sukoksy of Miami, Ariz., Ivy Love of Hillside, Ariz; and daughter-in-law, Roberta Sipes of Bagdad, Ariz; sons, Mickey (Mary) Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., Rod (Sue) Sipes of Congress, Ariz., Mark (Pam) Sipes of Bagdad, Ariz; 41 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Murphy of Kingman, Ariz., and Fay Webster of Cottonwood, Ariz. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Garnett S. Sipes Sr. in 1993, and by six of her children, Robert Fozier, Taylor Leroy, Marilyn Ann, Margie Bell, Bud Williams, and Garnet Sipes Jr., and two sisters, Dorothy Walker, Enid A. Edwards, two brothers, Robert and Ted Walker.      Enid Adeline Walker was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 1051 Willowcreek Road, Prescott, Yavapai Co., Arizona.5 She Enid A Edwards, 78, a Chino Valley resident, died Sunday May 18. 1997, at her sister’s home in Cottonwood. [Arizona] She was born Sept. 30, 1918 in Humboldt to Ivy (Brooks) and Edward Walker. Mrs. Edwards graduated from Prescott High School in 1937. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Chino Valley. She was very active with the PTA at both Miller Valley and Mata Dexter elementary schools, when her boys attended. She held state PTA offices. She served as president of Mile High Square dancers, with whom she and her husband, Joe, danced for 25 years and were instrumental in keeping the Saturday night dances going. She was also known for calling dance or two. Survivors include her sons, Jack Edwards of Chino Valley, Joseph Edwards of Phoenix, and Bradley Edwards of Prescott; sisters Elsie Murphy of Bullhead city, Margie Sipes of Hillside, and Fay Lloyd of Cottonwood: and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Joseph in 1989. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home on the corner of Cortez and Carleton Street. Services will begin at 2 p/m/ following visitation, with Rev, Jerry Kinman, pastor of First Baptist Church in Parker presiding.
