He was an electrician for Union Carbide at Alley and a member of the Gauley Bride Methodist Church and the United Mine Workers of America. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Bonnie Jane and Rebecca Darlene, both at home; a brother, Wilmer of Summersville; four sisters, Mrs. Wilma Stephenson of Belva, Mrs. Betty Thomas of Summersville, Mrs. Dorma Price of Enon and Mrs. Wanda Horton of Uniontown, Ky; and his mother, Mrs. Bessie Boley of Summersville. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Combs Funeral Home Chapel at Gauley Bridge with Rev. John Weir in charge. Burial will be in the Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, Ind. The body will remain at the funeral home. on July 23, 1968.3

A memorial service will be held on June 8, 2015, at 12:30 p.m. at Trailside Community Church, 5150 Abbott Road in Anchorage. Interment will follow at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery at 3 p.m. Arlene was born in Gauley Bridge, W.V. She was the oldest of five children born to John and Georgia Ward. Her family later settled in Ansted, W.V., where she and her four brothers grew up. After graduating from high school, Arlene joined the Women's Army Corps. She was stationed in Arlington, Va., where she met the love of her life, a military policeman, Robert Grudzinski. They married on June 1, 1957, and moved to Chicago, Ill. They later settled in Calumet City, Ill., where they raised three children. Arlene retired from Oak Forest Hospital, where she worked in administration. In 2001, Arlene and Robert moved to Anchorage, to dwell among the beauty of the land and be closer to family. Arlene loved reading and enjoyed watching NFL football games. Arlene is survived by three brothers, John Ward and his wife, Sandra, Rennis Ward and his wife, Diane and Bill Ward and his wife, Maggie; as well as her three children, Deborah Higgins and her husband, John, Robert Grudzinski and Patricia Simmons and her husband, Shawn. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kristin Grudzinski and her fiance, Dennis Angelbeck, Robert Grudzinski, Eric Higgins and his wife, Crystal, and Wade and Hayley Simmons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Grudzinski; brother, Daniel Ward; and grandson, John Robert Higgins. Arlene will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her and loved her. on June 6, 2015.1

"Big Bob" Grudzinski, 73, died Aug. 15, 2009, at Providence Extended Care Center in Anchorage, his hometown for the last eight years. A celebration of his life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trailside Community Church, 5150 Abbott Road. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Bob was born June 18, 1936, in Chicago to Edward and Lucille Grudzinski. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School and served as an MP in the U.S. Army. Upon leaving the military, he was employed at AT&T, from which he retired in 1989. Bob was an avid fisherman and pool player. He was a master gardener and wonderful cook. He enjoyed watching NFL games and old Western movies. He was an active participant at the Senior Center, where he often played pool with his friends. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Arlene June; his three children, Debbie, Bobby and Patty; his five grandchildren, Krissy, Eric, Robby, Wade and Hayley; his two sons-in-law, John and Shawn; his brother, Don; his niece, Karen; and nephew, Donnie. He was preceded in death by his grandson, John Robert. on August 20, 2009.3
