     Melvin Francis Blume was buried at Pine Lawn Memorial Park, Rapid City, Pennington Co., South Dakota.^3,4 He was born on February 1, 1910 at Burchard, Pawnee Co., Nebraska.^3,4 He married Iva Pearl Poff, daughter of John Henry Poff and Oma Della Murray, on January 6, 1953 at Kansas City, Jackson Co., Missouri.^2,3 Melvin Francis Blume died on December 27, 1985 at age 75.⁴ He BOX ELDER - Services for Melvin F. Blume, 75, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Campbell, Paula & Quinn Funeral Chapel in Rapid City with the Rev. Wayne Titus officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Lawn Cemetery in Rapid City. Blume died Friday at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Born Feb. 1, 1910, at Burchard, Neb., to Francis and Nellie (Manley) Blume, he was raised in Nebraska and Kansas. He married Eva Pearl Poff Jan. 6, 1953, at Kansas City, Mo. He worked as a steam plant operator at Ellsworth Air Force Base. He served with the Army during World War II. Blume was serving on the planning and zoning board in Box Elder at the time of his death. He was a member of Eagles Club Lodge No. 6992 of Alliance, Neb., a life-time member of the Disabled American Veterans and was a member of the VFW Post in Rapid City. Survivors include his wife, Pearl of Box Elder; two sons, Donald Chick of Hyannis, Neb., and Kenneth Chick of Denver, Colo; three daughters, Marilyn Blume of Rapid City, Leona Thompson of Casper, Wyo., and Ruby Roberts of Tyler, Texas; three brothers, Charles of Hot Springs, Ark., Dean of Norwich, Conn., and Myron of Oklahoma City, Okla; a sister, Nellie Marie Melvin of Lincoln, Neb; 14 grandchildren, including Jeremiah Childs; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. on December 29, 1985.³

Mrs. Poff was born in Martinville, Va. A homemaker, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Wilma Gilbert Legg. Surviving are her husband, Bernard L. Poff; a daughter, Debi Equils of Roper; a son, Jerry Smythe of Tyner; a sister, Judy Turvey of Hertford; two brothers, Gilbert Legg of Chesapeake and Ronald Legg of Moyock; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Charles Smythe Jr. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Smythe Family Cemetery, Corapeake, with Miller Funeral Home, Edenton, in charge of arrangements. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. on October 31, 2001.¹

She is survived by her husband, Dallas Elmore; one son, Willie Parris, New Castle; two brothers, Lawrence Cantrell, Cowpens, S.C., Henry Cantrell, Cascade; a granddaughter, Edna Parris, Roanoke; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 3, 1994, 2 p.m. at Craig Valley Baptist Church with interment in Crowder Cemetery. She was born November 18, 1935 in Alleghany County, a daughter of Mrs. Pauline Huffman Gray of New Castle, Va. and the late Raymond Gray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace L. Elmore, Sr. in 1973. Other than her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. David (Wanda) Rumpf of Chalfont, Pa., Ms. Susie Elmore of Willow Grove, Pa. and Mrs. Jeff (Sandy) Willard of Summit Hill, Pa; two sons, Wally Elmore of Willow Grove, Pa. and Doug Elmore of Hartboro, Pa; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers, Eugene Gray of New Castle, James Gray of Roanoke, William Gray of Vinton and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel, Covington. The interment will be made in Allehgany Memorial Park, Covington. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home. Memorials in Mrs. Elmore 's name may be made to the American Diabetes Fund, P.O.
