She was born July 6, 1926, in Rand, W.Va., a daughter of the late Bazzle Leroy Williams and Lura Ethel (Simpkins) Williams. Alice was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Henderson. She was a graduate of Morris Harvey College, where she received her Teaching Certificate. Prior to her marriage, she taught at the Witcher Creek School, in Kanawha County. She was active in 4-H, as a 4-H leader with the Ripley Indians Club and the Jackson County Junior Fair in Ripley. She was a Gray Lady Volunteer at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley. Alice was also a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, farming, crocheting and she made everyone she met a dish cloth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Clark Paxton Sr; two brothers, Merrill Williams and Ray Williams; and two sisters, Dorothy Wood and Sarah Lee Selbe. Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Golden Herdman of Point Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law, Roger Clark Jr. and Audrey Paxton of Dunn, N.C; grandchildren, Craig Herdman of Point Pleasant, Rhonda Herdman of Paige, Texas, Roger C. III (Venus) Paxton of Dunn, N.C., and Angela (Robert) Godsey of Dunn; great-grandson, Wolfgang Paxton of Dunn; two brothers, Roy (Mary Ann) Williams of Gallipolis Ferry and David Williams of Morrisville, Ind; and one sister, Arlene Northup of Vera Beach, Fla. The family would like to thank Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and staff for the loving care provided to their mother. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery in Henderson. on June 14, 2017.3

Donald worked for the state road as a transit man before retirement and was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Princeton. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Louise Whitacre; sister, Helen Gearhart; and son-in-law, Charles R. Briley. He is survived by his son, Michael S. Whitacre, and wife Angie; two daughters, Angela J. Briley, and Donna Byler and companion Carlton Kirby; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In keeping with Donald's wishes he will be cremated. Larry McArthur Kinzer Larry M. Kinzer, 74 of Bluewell, WV passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at The Maples Nursing Home. He had lived at 262 Bluewell Ave. with his wife, Mary, for 43 years. Born April 6, 1942, in Montcalm, WV, he was the son of Ezra Kinzer and Nellie Riggs Kinzer. Larry was educated in McDowell County Schools. He was of the Pentecostal faith and gave his life to the Lord under the preaching of Steven Umberger who ministered to him at the nursing home. Larry learned his carpentry trade at a young age from his grandfather, Gilbert Riggs. Larry then moved to Martinsville, VA, where he worked for several construction companies. After coming back to Bluewell he was the major developer of Bluewell Estates, having built eleven homes in that development. He then built Kinzer Apartments as well as Kinzer’s Coin-Op Laundry in Bluewell. A few years later, he developed Clearview Mobile Home Park and Kinzer’s Mobile Home Park, also in Bluewell. Throughout his life he and his wife, Mary, ran these businesses together, until his health began to decline. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Greg, and a brother, Ralph. Sandra was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended Spring Fork Baptist Church. She retired from the State of WV with 20 plus years of service. Sandra loved to take care of & help people. She enjoyed crocheting in her pastime and had a special talent for spoiling her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Mike) Pritt; sons, Tim Stricker, Larry (Renay) Stricker, and Mark Stricker; step-daughters, Vonetta (Steve) Horan, Jackie Stover, Rita (Tony) Gaylor, and Crystal (Dan) Stepp; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Family would like to send a special "Thank You" to Jessica Pritt & Hospice staff for their tender love and care for Sandra, and also to Rebecca, for all the time and care you gave to "our" mother during this difficult year. He was born, in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Benedict & Ella Murphy Stricker and was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Dorothy Dale Stricker, daughter-in-law, Misty Humphreys Stricker, and his beloved Boxer, Max. Surviving, his wife of 46 years, Helena Olson Stricker; step-daughter, Cynthia (Judy) McFarland; sons, Timothy Stricker, Larry (Renay) Stricker, Mark Stricker; daughter, Rebecca (Mike) Pritt; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great- grandchildren. Raymond was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from Elkview High School in 1954 and served in the 130th Air National Guard for eight years with the military police. He retired from the United States Postal Service with thirty-five years of service and was a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a treasurer. He enjoyed all sports and observing the wildlife. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Oakridge Center (Complete Care) and Kanawha Hospice for the compassionate care provided for Raymond. He was fond of everyone he met and considered everyone his family including his church family.
