Mabel was a homemaker, Christian by faith, loving mother/sister/grandmother, enjoyed quilting, and collecting coffee cups from every state. She is survived by: three sisters Mary Samples, and Bonnie White (Jerry) of Clay County, WV, and Doris Long of French Creek, WV; four brothers, Jack King (Pat) of Upshur County, WV, Clay King, Roy Lee (Wilma) and William King (Shirley) all of Clay County, WV; two daughters, Joann Hilbert (Hugh Kyle Hilbert Jr.) of French Creek, WV, and Connie Jean Schoolcraft (James E. She was born October 9, 1932, to the late Ted R. and Hallie May Samples Burdette. She was a former employee of the West Virginia State Police Department, and retired from FMC in South Charleston. Jackie was a member of Dunbar United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Dunbar Chapter #133. She was a native of Procious, Clay County. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hugh and Laura Samples. Surviving are her children, Judy Alderman and husband, Danny, of Dunbar, Roy King and wife, Mary Louise, of Charleston and Sandy Kemp of Cross Lanes; sisters, Sharon Samples and husband, Ronald, of Culloden and Linda Bird and husband, Von, of Elkview; brothers, Wayne R. Burdette of Procious and Jerry Burdette and wife, Jackie, of Charleston; grandchildren, Patty Hughes, Kelly Hughes, Joshua King and wife, Heather, and J. Caleb King; and great-grandchildren, Allison Miller, Savannah Miller and Adeline King.
