Mary Audra "Audrey" Brown was buried at Grose Cemetery (also known as Hopkins Cemetery), Valley Fork, Clay Co., West Virginia.6,7 Her Social Security Number was 236-42-3159.11 She was born on May 18, 1925 at Ovapa, Clay Co., West Virginia.4,6,7,11 She married Paul Lorentz Hopkins on April 24, 1949 at Ovapa, Clay Co., West Virginia.4,5,7 As of August 24, 1949,her married name was Hopkins.4 Mary Audra "Audrey" Brown died on July 17, 2010 at Clay Co., West Virginia, at age 85.6,11 She Mary Audra Hopkins, born May 18, 1925, daughter of the late Earley and Dicy Park Brown, departed this life Saturday, July 17, 2010. In addition to her parents, Audra was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Lorentz Hopkins; brothers, Stanley Hugo and William Clyde and Glenvil and Denvil Brown; and two sisters, Arbustus Brown Brady and Geraline Brown Samples. Surviving are one daughter, Laura Denise (Rick) Taylor of Ovapa; and two sons, Timothy Benet (Miriam) of Clay and Paul Lorentz II (Leanna) of Valley Fork. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Jeremy, Richard "Rick" and Matthew "Matt" (Danielle) Taylor, Jonathan, Sarah and Michael Hopkins and Carlee and Jacob Hopkins; and two precious great-grandchildren, Parker and Addison Taylor. Audra was always a busy person, rising early each day to care for her family. There will never be another biscuit made as good as hers. Fresh out of high school, she began work. She worked in many capacities. As a stenographer (she always praised God for this gift), she worked at the West Virginia Extension office, Elk River Coal and Lumber Company, and the West Virginia Division of Rehabiliation. She retired from Clay County Health Department/WIC division. She and her husband, Lorentz, also ran an egg and milk delivery business in Ovapa, and a small business in Clay called Hoppy's Drive In. They also traveled extensively before starting a family, including working in the Boeing Aircraft Plant in Seattle, Washington. Audra taught a Bible class which she took very seriously at Bethel M.E. Church, where she and Lorentz attended. She always helped others and worked to see them saved by her sincere testimony. Most important to her was her family. She was a devout mother, a grandmother and a true Christian. She encouraged, she shared, she did not judge, she accepted and soothed like a healing balm! And we will never forget her love to us all! Burial will follow in the Hopkins Cemetery, Ovapa. on July 21, 2010.7
