A member of the family found the body about 7:30 a.m. Mr. Titsworth was born on the farm where he died, a son of George and Rhoda Applegate Titsworth. He was a member of the Little Flat Rock Christian church. Survivors are the widow, Ella, and two daughters, Mrs. Harold Frankes at home, and Marjorie, who teaches at Muncie. A brother, Judge John Titsworth preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Monday at the Moster Funeral home in Rushville with Rev. George Harris officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. on May 10, 1942.6

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Harold Frakes and Miss Marjorie Titsworth, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Lola Dean and Mrs. Mary Iles of Indianapolis and Mrs. Anna Hicks of Swayzee, Ind. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Moster Mortuary in Rushville with the Rev. Howard Miller, pastor of the Little Flat Rock Christian church of which she was a member, and the Rev. George Harris, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in East Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary anytime on September 16, 1946.6

State Road 44, Rushville, Rush Co., Indiana.8 She was born on November 22, 1897 at Indiana.8,5 As of December 26, 1925,her married name was Frakes.5 She married Harold Edward Frakes on December 26, 1925 at Rush Co., Indiana.9,6,7,4,5,10 Marion Myrtella Titsworth died on April 26, 1956 at Rushville, Rush Co., Indiana, at age 58.7 She Mrs. Marion Frakes, 58, widely known Rush County school teacher and a sister of Miss Marjorie Titsworth of Muncie, a teacher at Blaine Junior High School, died late Thursday night in Rush Memorial Hospital at Rushville, Mrs. Frakes, who had taught for the past 19 years at New Salem School in Rush County, had suffered a stroke while in class Thursday morning. She and her husband, Harold Frakes, resided at RR 1, Glenwood. Mr. Frakes is Indiana Supervisor of the Federal-State Inspection Service. Surviving are the husband, and the sister in Muncie. Mrs. Frakes was the daughter of Roseoe and Ella (McCrory) Titsworth and was a native of Rush County. She was a graduate of Purdue University, receiving a master's degree at Butler University. She had been a teacher for 35 years, in Marion, Fayette and Rush counties, and was formerly principal at Orange. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Moster and Sons Mortuary in Rushville, the Rev. Donald Taylor and the Rev. Victor Koontz officiating. on April 27, 1956.7

She was stricken at her home, 4118 N. Pennsylvania, and death was attributed to aneurysm. Mrs. Nolan, a native of Rushville, was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Indiana University, and had attended graduate school at Radcliffe College. She was secretary for the class of 1947. She married Nolan in 1947. He is an attorney with Ice, Miller, Donadio & Ryan law firm. He is also the author of two books "The Iron Brigade," a book about the Civil War, and "As Sounding Brass," a novel dealing with a young man and the heartless way society treats him. Mrs. Nolan was active in PTA at Shortridge, St. Thomas and St. Joseph's elementary schools. She also was a member of the Nonpartisan School Committee, the board of directors of Young Audiences, Indiana Civil Liberties Union and was active in Democratic organizations and politics. Memorial contributions may be made to the PTA scholarship fund at Shortridge. Other survivors sons Patrick, Thomas, John; daughters Mary and Elizabeth; mother Mrs. Russell B. Titsworth; brother Thomas D. Titsworth, a candidate, for nomination as Superior Court judge in 1966. on November 7, 1967.7

Nolan, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Titsworth Nolan. Friends may greet the family on Monday, July 14 from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holiday Dr. East, with a memorial Mass to follow.      Dr. Guy Titsworth was buried at Hickory Point Cemetery, Elk Fork, Pettis Co., Missouri.4 He was born on December 4, 1877 at Rushville, Rush Co., Indiana.5,4 He married Hazel Verne Human on June 24, 1912 at Sedalia, Pettis Co., Missouri.3,4 Dr. Guy Titsworth and Hazel Verne Human were divorced before February, 1924; Hazel remarried on Feb 4, 1924.6 Dr. Guy Titsworth died on December 20, 1950 at Wadsworth, Leavenworth Co., Kansas, at age 73.4 He Dr. Guy Titsworth, outstanding Sedalia doctor, died early Wednesday morning in the Wadsworth, Kansas, veteran's hospital where he has been a patient for several years. The 73-year-old specialist served a large eye, ear, nose and throat practice here until poor health forced his retirement. Dr. Titsworth was born in Rushville, Indiana, in 1877, the son of the late John and Mary Titsworth. He attended Missouri university, medical school in Philadelpia, and later took work in his specialied field in Vienna Austria. During World War I the doctor served as a captain in the Medical Corps to Germany and Russia. Dr. Titsworth married Miss Hazel Human June 24, 1912. To this union one daughter, Mrs. Fred Lange of 917 West Third street, Sedalia, was born, who survives. Also two grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Sadie T. McMillian of Chatanooga, Tenneessee, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at McLaughlins chapel Friday afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. David M. Bryan, pastor of the First Christian church officiating. Active pallbeares were James McNiel, Pete T O'brien, Jack Kendrick, George Kendrick, Finis Kendrick and Ranson Ray. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Pettis county Medical Society. Masonic graveside services were conducted by Sedalia Lodge A. F. and A. M. and burial was in Hickory Point cemetery near his old home. Dr. Titsworth was an uncle of Allen F. Titsworth of Windsor and George A. Titsworth of Green Ridge. on December 21, 1950.4

     Mary Ann Allen was buried at Hickory Point Cemetery, Green Ridge, Pettis Co., Missouri.1,2 She was born on January 9, 1866 at Lookingglass Prairie, St. Clair Co., Illinois.3,1,2 As of June 13, 1889,her married name was Titsworth.3 She married George Andrew Titsworth, son of John Titsworth and Mary Ann Finn, on June 13, 1889 at Missouri.3,1 Mary Ann Allen died on September 27, 1944 at Windsor Township, Henry Co., Missouri, at age 78.3,1,2 She Mrs. Mary A. Titsworth - Mary Ann Allen, daughter of George H. and Eliza Jane Allen, was born on Lookingglass Prairie, near Shiloh, Illinois, January 1866, and departed this life September 27, 1944. She was 78 years, 8 months and 18 days old. When two weeks old she moved with her parents and settled on a farm seven miles north of Windsor, near Owsley, where she was reared to womanhood. On the 13th day of June, 1889, she was united in marriage to George A. Titsworth. To this union two sons were born, Allen F. Titsworth of Windsor, and George A. Titsworth, Jr., of Green Ridge. After her marriage she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she resided until 1913. She then returned to Missouri, living on her farm west of Windsor until her death. She is also survived by two brothers, Charles H. Allen of Windsor, and Edwin D. Allen of Green Ridge, and four grandchildren: Mary Edith, Elizabeth Louise, George A. 3rd, and Guy Allen Titsworth. She was preceded in death by three brothers George R., Stanley W. and Bewley S. Allen. In early girlhood she united with the Eldorado Methodist Church. Later moving her membership to Colorado Springs, then returning that membership to the Methodist Church of Windsor. She was one of the oldest members of the Windsor Chapter of the Eastern Star. She faithfully practiced the teachings of her church and fraternity. he was a kind, good wife, a loving and affectionate mother, a good neighbor, ready and willing to aid those that were sick or in need of assistance. She was one her neighbors loved and respected, and was a welcome guest in their homes. She will be missed in the home and in the community. Her voice is hushed, her tongue is still, no more to be heard among us, your footsteps, Mother, we will hear no more. Peacefully sleep Mother, until the resurrection morn. The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon, at Hickory Point Church, conducted by Rev. H. A. Wood of Otterville. Officers of the Order of Eastern Star held their graveside service. Burial was in the family lot at Hickory Point Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Ben W. Harris. A. A. Love, M. F. Burkhart, Jack Gregory, M. D. Muir and Aubrey Ragar. on October 5, 1944.1

She was near 80 years old, made her home with her daughter the last three years, in addition to her daughter, she leaves two sons, John of San Francisco, Calif. and Frank Titsworth of the U.S. Naval Hospital in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. She was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Nickles, was born 3 miles north of Jamestown. Dr. Titsworth taught school at Shiloh, Fairview, Oakland, Splice Creek, and several terms at Jamestown and a number of years at Sedalia. Dr. Titsworth and husband studied Osteopathy at Kirksville, and after graduation they moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. About two years ago Dr. Titsworth retired from active practice and moved to the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Deatherage at Fairfax, Va. Dr. Titsworth was in failing health three years. Burial was in Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, Va. near the home of her daughter. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Maupin of Webster Groves, Mo. Mrs. Ella Type [Fyfe] of Bridgeport, Ill. and three brothers, Wiliam E. Nickles of Jamestown, and Robert and Sam Nickles of Boise, Idaho. on August 6, 1942.2

Living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1963, she helped start the American International School and was a founding member of the Royal Saudi International Ladies Club. In 1968, she moved with her family to Vientiane, Laos, where she taught English and music. All her life she was an adventuresome world traveler. She was a fitness devotee before it was fashionable. At age 79, she and Jim were featured in Fitness Over Fifty (1996). Upon their retirement, they traveled around the world with Elderhostel and Friendship Force. Peggy served in leadership positions in the Washington, D.C., Friday Morning Music Club, the Montgomery County Music Teachers Association, PEO, AAUW and the San Diego Symphony Advocates for Classical Music. Peggy's legacy was a love of music. She was a talented piano teacher for over 40 years, while fulfilling her primary role as dedicated wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jim, and six children: Nancy Saija (Mario) of Italy and Australia, John Woolley (Cathy) of Sarasota, Dianne Park (Fin) of Poway, Calif., Susan Burke (Roger) of Plano, Texas, Priscilla Burton (Frank) of Cleveland, Utah, and David Woolley (JoAnn) of Chicago, plus 12 adored grandchildren and seven dear great-grandchildren. Peg was predeceased by her parents, two brothers and her first husband. on July 9, 2007.5
