Mr. Carr was a member of the Talbot County American Legion Post 70. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty D. Carr, in 2004; and eight brothers. He is survived by two stepdaughters, Spring Davidson of Newark, Del., and April Shamblin of West Virginia; his stepmother, Frances Taylor of Pasadena; a brother-in-law and his wife, Russell and Joan Taylor of Glen Burnie; three sisters-in-law, Chrissy Spalding of Pasadena, and Edith Clifton and Nancy Hearse, both of Glen Burnie; and six grandchildren. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Hillsboro. on May 12, 2006.9

     Betty Mae Taylor was buried at Greenmount Cemetery, Hillsboro, Caroline Co., Maryland.3,2 She Betty M. Carr of Cordova, MD died on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. She was 62. Born October 22, 1941 in Odenton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Russell Lee, Sr. and Virginia Mae Knight Taylor. She grew up in Anne Arundel County and in 1959 graduated from Glen Burnie High School. On July 26, 1970 she married Raymond B. Carr. They lived in Virginia for five years, where in 1975 she graduated from the Roanoke Memorial Hospital Practical Nursing Program. Shortly thereafter, they moved back to Glen Burnie, MD where she worked as an LPN at Deaton Medical Center and North Arundel Hospital. In 1982 she received her AA degree in Nursing from Anne Arundel Community College. She worked as an RN for the next fourteen years at North Arundel Hospital, Anne Arundel Medical Center, University of MD and Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE, retiring in 1994 due to illness. She was a member of the Retirement Club Local 540, Baltimore, MD. She loved nursing, spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sewing, crocheting, gardening and playing the slots. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carr is survived by two daughters, Spring Davidson and her husband Jeff Millford, and April Shamblin and her husband Josh; a brother, Russell L. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Joan; six grandchildren; her step-mother, Frances Taylor; half-sister, Christina Spalding; and many other friends and relatives. Newton was born January 10, 1934 to the late Roy and Altha Guilliams. He was preceded in death by his sweet four-month old son, Michael Glen Guilliams (9/10/56 – 1/9/57). His loving wife, Norma Guilliams, has taken care of him, loved him, and spoiled him for 69 years. He will continue watching over her, his children Jeff Guilliams (Donna) and Jennifer Brubaker (Keith) and his "pride and joy" grandchildren Harrison Brubaker (Casey Johnson) and Meredith Kantsios (Logan) as well as his great grandson (who should be here in January). He even loved and enjoyed his active grandpups. He had an unbelievable relationship with every one of his brothers and sisters, his in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings Pete Guilliams (Betsy), Sylvia Cooper (Lloyd), Coy Guilliams, Dan Guilliams and in-laws Don Carter/John Laprade, and Barbara Guilliams. Surviving are siblings Vera Laprade, Arlene Carter, Dot Webb (James), Steve Guilliams (Linda), Fred Guilliams, Barry Guilliams, and Ronnie Guilliams (Joyce) and sister-in-law Caroline Guilliams. He also treasured long-time friendships with Darla Lee, Ray and Nancy Holland, and Betty (Jimmy) Guilliams among many others, and he loved listening to music by Alan Messenger and friends. He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church (baptized April 8, 2018), one of the charter members of Callaway Volunteer Fire Department (established May 1966), a plumber who offered services to friends and family near and far, an employee of Hajoka for 21 years followed by Norfolk and Southern for 20 years, and a valued friend to everyone he met. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Highland United Methodist Church or Callaway Volunteer Fire Department. A special thanks goes to Carilion Hospice and everyone who has supported Newton through his years of sickness. The burial will follow in the Guilliams/Hale Cemetery on Tharp Creek Road in Ferrum. on September 12, 2023.4

     Coy Lee Guilliams was born on November 2, 1940 at Franklin Co., Virginia.4 He married Caroline Wilson Fisher on January 6, 1962 at Martinsville, Virginia.5 Coy Lee Guilliams died on February 23, 2020 at Virginia at age 79.3 He Coy Lee Guilliams, 79, of Callaway, died on Sunday, February 23, 2020, from complications related to lung cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy L. and Altha F. Guilliams; and brothers, Bernard L."Pete" and Danny Guilliams. He is survived by his wife, Caroline F. Guilliams; daughter, Kelly Guilliams Moran (Lynnie); sons, Gordon Guilliams (Carrie) and Alan Guilliams (Mandy); grandchildren, Carrie, Cassidy and Davis Moran and Connor and Brandon Guilliams. Also surviving are sisters, Sylvia Cooper, Vera LaPrade, Arlene Carter and Dot Webb (James); and brothers, Newton Guilliams (Norma Jean), Steve Guilliams (Linda), Fred Guilliams, Barry Guilliams and Ronnie Guilliams (Joyce); sister-in-law, Betty F. Coy served in the United States Navy, retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad, worked part-time at Source4, was a charter member of the Callaway Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the American Legion and a member of Highland United Methodist Church. on February 24, 2020.3

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mable Ramsey; father and mother-in-law, Roy and Altha Guilliams; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pete and Betsy Guilliams, Sylvia and Lloyd Cooper, Newton Guilliams, Coy Guilliams, Danny Guilliams, Barbara Guilliams, John Laprade, Don Carter and Noel Carter. She is survived by her husband, Richard Steve Guilliams; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Joyce Guilliams, Barry Guilliams, Fred Guilliams, Dot and James Webb, Caroline Guilliams, Arlene Carter, Vera Laprade, Norma Jean Guilliams and a special nephew-in-law, Alan Messenger, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
