     Kathy Lynn Slack Kathy Lynn Williams, September 4, 1954 - February 24, 2022. Kathy Lynn Williams, 67 of East Bank, West Virginia was reunited with her beloved husband, Robert E. "Bobby" Williams on February 24, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents J. Ralph, Sr., & Macel Fanny Slack; brothers, James Ralph Slack, Jr., and Paul Donald Slack. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Linda (Morton) Burton, brother, Roger (Donna) Slack along with a multitude of nieces and nephews. She graduated from East Bank High School in 1972. She was also a devoted worker at University of Charleston for many years. Burial will follow at the Donel C. Kinnard Veteran Cemetery in Dunbar.³ She was buried at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.^3,5 She was born on September 4, 1954 at West Virginia.^3,5 As of circa 1979,her married name was Williams.⁶ She married Robert Gene "Bobby" Williams circa 1979.^2,3,6 Kathy Lynn Slack died on February 24, 2022 at Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 67.^3,5

     James Ralph Slack Jr. married Sarah Unknown.⁵ James Ralph Slack Jr. was born on December 27, 1946 at Dry Branch, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.^2,4 He married Mickey Dianne Province on November 24, 1967 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.² James Ralph Slack Jr. died on September 19, 2015 at Marmet, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 68.⁴ He James "Ralph" Slack Jr., 68, of Florida, formerly of Dry Branch, died peacefully Sept. 19, 2015 at Marmet Nursing Center. Born Dec. 27, 1946, he was preceded in death by his parents, James Ralph Slack Sr. and Macel Chambers Slack, and brother and lifelong friend, Paul Donald Slack. Left to cherish his memory are sisters, Kathy Williams and Linda Burton; brother, Roger Slack; daughters, Susie and Missy Slack; sons, James Ralph Slack III and Ralph Allen Slack; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. on September 22, 2015.⁴

     His Social Security Number was 234-88-1452.⁵ Paul Donald Slack married Mary Unknown.² Paul Donald Slack was born on July 14, 1952.⁵ He died on August 26, 2011 at Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 59; The SSDI has a death date of Aug 25, 2011.^5,2 He Paul Donald Slack, 59, of East Bank passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, due to complications in his battle with COPD. Paul was surrounded by his loving family when he passed. He was an organ donor. Paul attended East Bank High School with the class of 1970, then joined the U.S. Army. He spent most of his adult life working and living in Florida with his oldest brother, Ralph, as a roofer and contractor, as well as a "Jack of all trades." Due to Paul's deteriorating health, he retired and moved to East Bank to live with his niece, Susie Slack-Kinsel, and his dear friend, Cecil Pomeroy, who cared for him daily. Paul was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ralph and Macel Chambers-Slack of Dry Branch; and his nephew, Logan Andrew Workman. Paul is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Kayla and Sarah of Florida; and his only grandchild, Matthew. Also to cherish his memory are his brothers, Ralph Slack Jr. and his wife, Sarah, of Sutton and Roger and Donna Slack of Ohley; and sisters, Linda Slack-Burton and husband, Morton, of Chelyan and Kathy Slack-Williams and her husband, Bob, of East Bank. He will be greatly missed by his faithful companion, Rusty, his dog. Paul is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly. Paul touched all of our hearts with phone calls at a time in his own special way. Paul may be gone from this earth but our memories of him will live on forever in our hearts. Paul's wishes were to be cremated. on September 6, 2011.²

     Lewis Edward Chattin was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.^3,4 His Social Security Number was 223-30-9080.⁵ He married Lillian Frances Cooper.⁸ Lewis Edward Chattin was born on April 5, 1930 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,5,9 He died on January 12, 1997 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 66.^3,9,5,6 He CHATTIN, Lewis Edward, ("Ed"), also known as Taz, 66, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 12, 1997. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church for many years and was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a well known professional painter for many years in the Roanoke Valley. He was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Annie Chattin; a brother, Bobby Chattin; and a sister, Ila Atkins. Survivors include his beloved wife, Lillian; and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Maxine and Billy McKee; stepsons and their wives, Donald and Sandi Eakin, Johnny and Jean Eakin; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters and their husbands, Colleen and Melvin Booth, Shirley and Donnie Etue all of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 1997 with the Rev. Carter L. Sloan and the Rev. Gene Arnold officiating. Burial with military honors by VFW Post 1264 will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. He will be deeply missed by all. Our thanks to the VA Medical Center and the Veterans Care Center for their care during his illness. on January 14, 1997.³

     Mary Virginia Gravett was buried at Saint Andrews Cemetery, 3601 Salem Turnpike NW, Roanoke, Virginia.^1,4 She was born on August 19, 1916 at Danville, Virginia.^1,2,3,4 As of April 16, 1938,her married name was Lucas.³ She married Howard Earl Lucas Sr., son of Charles Matthew "Charlie" Lucas and Flora Minnie Wimmer, on April 16, 1938 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,3,5 Mary Virginia Gravett died on July 16, 2010 at Virginia at age 93.^1,4 She Virginia Gravett Lucas, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 16, 2010. Born on August 19, 1916, she was the eldest daughter of the late Charles Lewis Gravett and Mary Stern Gravett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Earl Lucas; and by brothers, Charles Gravett Jr., Edwin Gravett, James Gravett, and Jack Gravett; and her sister, Joanna Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Allison Noe and husband, Jerry; and sons, Howard Lucas Jr., Warren Lucas and wife, Christianna, Michael Lucas and wife, Sandra, Charles Lucas, James Lucas and wife, Andrea, and David Lucas and wife, Gail. She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside Service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010, at St. Andrews Cemetery with the Rev. Msgr. Joseph P. Lehman officiating. A Memorial Mass will be offered 12:10 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010, at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church followed by a Gathering of Family and Friends in the church reception hall. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131. on July 17, 2010.¹
