     James Ellsworth Arnold Major James E. Arnold (USAF, Ret.), age 50, went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2007. James was born on October 11, 1956 at Havre De Grace, Maryland, the son of the late James H. and Georgia E. Owens Arnold. James is survived by his wife of 21 years, Julie; sons, James and Joseph; sister, Linda; brother-in-law, Bill, and nieces, Kathy and Amanda. James was a 1978 graduate of the Air Force Academy and a 1985 graduate of George Washington Law Center. James served as a JAG officer, serving in Illinois, California, Germany and Washington, D.C., where he retired in 1996. James was a military history buff, a great storyteller, an avid reader and enjoyed playing games with his family.      Erma Fay Thomas One of the Lord’s most reverent and faithful followers, Erma Thomas Taylor of 153 Sunset Place, Danville, VA, was called to heaven on Sunday, August 7, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. Born September 26, 1933, Erma was the daughter of the late William B. Thomas and the late Nona L. Thomas. She was married for 58 years to Ossie Lee Taylor, Jr., who passed away 10 years ago. Erma also had a brother, Emory M. Thomas, who preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Taylor Daly, and her husband, Jon, of Winston-Salem, and five grandchildren: Jon Michael Daly, Jr. and wife, Rachel, of Greensboro, Taylor D. Carruthers and husband, Drew, of Clemmons, Courtney D. Boon and husband, Read, of Cary, Huntington T. Daly and wife, Marissa, of Woodland Hills, CA, and Niland L. Daly and wife, Laura, of Winston-Salem. She was a beloved “Gigi” to seven great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons. Other special survivors include Janice Taylor, Jacquie Wyatt, Kenneth Stone and daughter, Kensley, and Keven Stone and wife, Crystal. Erma retired after 48 years of public work and was a loyal, life-long member of Faith Baptist Church. She was also an avid animal lover, having rescued several elderly dogs in recent years. She leaves behind Molly, her sweet canine companion. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He had served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Dan River Post 1097. He had worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Daly Seven Group. In addition to his wife of the residence, Mr. Taylor is survived by one daughter, Bonnie T. Daly and husband, Jon, of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Janice Taylor Stone of Danville, Shirley Taylor Mooney and husband, Smith, of Roxboro, NC, and Dorothy Taylor Day, also of Roxboro; five grandchildren, Jon-Michael Daly, Jr. and wife, Rachel, Taylor D. Carruthers and husband, Drew, Courtney S. Daly, Huntington T. Daly and Niland L. Daly. Other survivors include three special nieces and nephew, Jacquie Wyatt, Kenneth Stone and Kevin Stone; special friend, Morris Payne, Sr. and his special companion "Mickey". Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. on May 4, 2012.²
