He was born November 6, 1973 to Lyle E. and Vesta E. Brereton of Orem, Utah. He grew up in Orem and graduated from Mountain View High School. Josh met his soul mate, Nichole, in a mountaineering class while attending UVSC. Their love of rock climbing and the outdoors was an important part of their courtship and marriage. They were sealed in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple in August of this year. Josh was pursuing a drafting degree at UVSC and would have completed the program this spring. Josh loved spending time with his family and friends at Lake Powell, cliff diving, wakeboarding and jet skiing. Josh was anxiously waiting for the first snowfall to get "boarding" again. He was an Eagle Scout who loved working with the Young Men. Josh was an excellent craftsman and loved working with his hands. He built beautiful wood furniture pieces and did amazing tile work. Josh was a very kind hearted person; willing to help others and loved everyone, especially children. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We are all very blessed to have him as a part of our lives. He is survived by his wife, Nichole C. Nixon Brereton, his parents, Lyle and Vesta, his sister Angie (Chad) Pope, his brothers Weston (Jenn) Brereton and Troy Brereton, and his grandparents Robert E. Brereton, and Keith and Etheleen Evans. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Karla Brereton. The family would like to thank the Orem City EMT's and nurses who provided assistance. Also a special thanks to Dr. Bingham at UVRMC and Dr. Long at LDS Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Northridge Stake Center 1674 N. 200 West, Orem. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah, and Friday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to service. Burial will be in the Orem City cemetery. on December 11, 2002.3
