Born in Sumter on January 4, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Tommy James Partin and Ester Mae Brown Partin. She was “Annie” to those who knew and loved her. She had an outgoing personality and was a friend to all. Annie was a member of the Newcomers Club, Sumter Baptist Temple, and an avid party and duplicate bridge player. Surviving her is grandson, Landon Michael Brown of Keller, Texas, and a special cousin “Butch” Earl Shuler of California, who joking says “Annie cheated me at checkers” when they were growing up. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Marion Lee Brown and her brother, Thomas Leroy Partin. Born May 26, 1921, at Mount Hope, he was the son of the late Charles B. and Sadie Sink Talbert. Mr Talbert was a retired miner, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the U.M.W.A. Survivors include his wife, Cora Hitchcock Talbert; five sons, Charles Talbert of King, N.C., and Michael, Jimmy, Jerry and Terry Talbert, all of Virginia Beach, Va; four daughters, Patty Case of Waynesville, Mo., Mary Anstey of Oak Hill, Cindy Hypes of Hamilton, Ohio, and Barbara Sue Anchors of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Charlotte Johnson and Margaret Dileonardo, both of Fayetteville, and Mary Katherine Massey of Vermilion, Ohio; and five grandchildren. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at Route 1, Fayetteville. on July 21, 1988.³

Johnson of Beckley, Lynn Mauritz and husband Frank of Oak Hill, Tammy Jo Painter and husband Tolbert of Sissonville; and brother Charles W. Wheeler and wife Carla of Knoxville, Tennessee; and several devoted nieces and nephews. Burial and graveside service will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3110.
