Michaelis, 74, Marion, died 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at Marion General Hospital. Born Oct. 16, 1925, in Union County, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Maybery) Michaelis. Twice married, he was preceded in death by both Lydia Michaelis and Margaret Michaelis. A U.S. Navy veteran during World War II, he was a self-employed hauler. He was a resident of Marion for 20 years coming from Marysville. He is survived by three sons, Russell E. Michaelis Jr. of Seattle, Wash., Paul David Michaelis of Cleveland, William Michaelis; four daughters, Mary Ann (John) Hale of Plain City, Patsy Dunn of Pennsylvania, Juanita Dubay of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Jean Michaelis of Columbus; three sisters, Rosella Michaelis, Eva May Michaelis and Irene Michaelis, all of Plain City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special friend, Alice Moon, of Marion. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Graveside services will be held at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. on September 19, 2000.5
