     Burwell Raymond "Ray" Wimmer Jr. was born on April 29, 1933 at Hickory, Virginia.3,2 He married Atha Madison circa 1951.2 Burwell Raymond "Ray" Wimmer Jr. died on December 1, 2009 at Chesapeake, Virginia, at age 76.3,2 He CHESAPEAKE - Ray Burwell Wimmer, 76, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Chesapeake Healthcare surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hickory, Va., on April 29, 1933, the son of the late Burwell R. and Evelyn Garrett Wimmer. He had proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Ray was a former member of the IBEW Local 81 for more than 50 years. He also worked at the Norfolk Ford Plant before retiring from Union Camp in Franklin. Ray spent many years as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Chesapeake Regional Medical Center as his passion was to help others. Ray was a former member of Oaklette United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Anne. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Atha Madison Wimmer; his two sons, David R. Wimmer and Steve J. Wimmer, both of Chesapeake; his sister, Elizabeth Harris; his many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Monday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. in Oaklette United Methodist Church, 520 Oaklette Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23325. The Rev. C. Eugene Meek will officiate. Memorial donations may be made in Ray's name to Oaklette United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. on December 6, 2009.2

Born in Blackwater, Va., Mr. Kerekes was a retired superintendent of NOB with 38 years service. He was a member Indian River Lodge No. 252 AF&AM, where he was past master and current secretary, Scottish Rite Mason and Khedive Temple Shrine, Provost Guard, past president Virginia Federation National Association of Active and Retired Employees and Area 2 vice president of Virginia Federation Chapters. He was also a member of Oaklette United Methodist Church and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, where he was a tail gunner in B-17s from 1942 to 1945. He was the widower of Eileen Kerekes and predeceased by a stepson, Patrick Hart. He is survived by his son, Ernest F. Kerekes Jr. and wife Margaret; three grandchildren, Adelia Kerekes, Amy Hart and Patrick Hart; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, with the Rev. Eugene Meek officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. on October 20, 2005.2
