The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will follow at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Kidd officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Jacksonville Cemetery in Floyd, Virginia, with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Mafair United Methodist Church, 1409 East Center Street, Kingsport, Tenn. 37664. Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, Tenn., is in charge of arrangements. on April 12, 2006.4

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther A. (Al) Williams (1997). Mrs. Williams was born November 12, 1915 in Patrick County to Robert E. Lee, Sr. and Lilly Ada (Robertson) Lee. Growing up in Floyd, she was a member of the Floyd Baptist Church, graduated from Floyd County High School in 1933 and received her Teacher Certificate from Radford College. Returning to Floyd County, she taught at Floyd, Check, and Willis Elementary Schools until her marriage to Al in August 1939, and then also during 1942 to 1945. She joined him in Bluefield, W.Va. with the start of his 40 year career with the JC Penney Company. Transfers sent them to live in Charleston and Parkersburg, W.Va., Covington, Va., Lancaster, Ohio, and Forestville, Md. where Mrs. Williams was active in school, scouting, church, and civic activities. In 1976, they retired to live in Roanoke and began raising cattle and gardening along the Little River in Floyd. Winters were spent in Sebastian, Fla. enjoying the sun, surf fishing, and hobbies. In 1992, they moved to Mason Christian Village in Mason, Ohio. In 2007, Gerene moved to Chesterwood Village, West Chester, Ohio. She was preceded in death by brothers, T. Bernard Lee, R. Edgar Lee, Arthur E. Lee, Woodrow W. Lee, Fred T. Lee; sister, S. Irene Lee Blaney; half brothers, John W. Lee, II, Fitzhugh C. Lee, Roger W. Lee, (Infant Son) Lee, J. Garfield Lee; half sisters, Ocie E. Rakes, Vera R. Salmons and Vada D. Wood. Mrs. Williams will be greatly missed by her son and his wife, Ronald Lee and Carol Bosak Williams of Flemington, N.J; daughter and her husband, Sara Sue and Thomas Raymond Back of West Chester, Ohio; grandchildren, Ronald Lee Williams, II, Flemington, N.J., Jonathan Bosak Williams, Bondi Beach, NSW, Australia, Cy Jeffrey Williams, Charlotte, N.C., Gregory Thomas, Abigail Irene and Jeffrey Alan Back, West Chester, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2007 at Gardner Funeral Home with Dr. Dave Holladay officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday. Arrangements by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd, Va. on December 15, 2007.5

Robertson, in 1940.2 Pearl Marie "Dollie" Young died on April 16, 2010 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 92.2,3 She Pearl Marie "Dollie" Young Lee, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, in her home after a gradual decline in health. Dollie was the fifth of seven children born to Dallas and Mary Jones Young. She was born April 14, 1918, in Floyd County, Va., and lived there most of her life. She resided in Christiansburg, Va., in her later years. She was married to Arthur Elgin Lee in 1940 until his death in 1976. A longtime member of Floyd Baptist Church, Dollie was always eager and happy to help others in need. She was accomplished and hard working, both in the sewing factory and in her garden and kitchen. Dollie will be remembered for her humor and for her kind and gracious nature. Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Celeste Lee; grandchildren, Alison and Christopher Lee, of Christiansburg; dear sister, Minnie Sweeney, of Christiansburg; sister-in-law, Anna Young, of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews and special friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd Triplett and Dr. Dave Holladay officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit the family at Gardner Funeral Home on Sunday evening, April 18, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice and all of the private duty nurses for their help and kindness toward Dollie. Also, the many cards, calls and prayers on Dollie's behalf are much appreciated. on April 18, 2010.2

A native of Willis, Va., she lived most of her life in Floyd, Va., and moved to Tennessee after retirement. Her occupations include serving as secretary of Floyd High School and being owner/operator of a beauty salon and a florist shop. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Garfield Lee; four brothers; and one sister. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Lee Hitchcock and husband, Charles, of Jonesborough; four grandchildren, Susanne Pemberton and husband, Jamie, of Lancing, Tenn., Stephanie Townsend and husband, Taylor, of Spruce Pine, N.C., Joanna Capps and husband, Chad, of Johnson City, and David Hitchcock, of Falls Church, Va; five grandchildren, Tristi Townsend, Tanner Townsend, Luke Capps, Jayden Pemberton, and Jordyn Pemberton; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, Tenn., on Friday, September 30, 2011, from 6 to 7 p.m. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Kim Goddard officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Jacksonville Cemetery in Floyd, Va., with the Rev. Rhonda Hobbs officiating. The family wishes to extend very special thanks to the dedicated staff of Caris Healthcare, especially to Angela Williams, Linda Byrd, and Jennifer Farner for their genuine expressions of love and care.
