     Theodore Roosevelt "Teddy" Epperly was buried at East Hill Cemetery, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.4 He was born on November 20, 1932 at Elliston, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3,4 He married Shirley Ann Sisson on February 12, 1954 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.3,4 Theodore Roosevelt "Teddy" Epperly died on July 9, 2017 at Virginia at age 84.4 He Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt Epperly, 84, of Salem, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was the husband of Shirley Sisson Epperly, whom he was happily married to for 63 years. Mr. Epperly was born November 20, 1932, in Montgomery County, a son of the late James Houston Epperly and Arlie Poff Epperly. Mr. Epperly served in the United States Army, Post World War II, from 1954 to 1956 and made sergeant in 21 months. He was also retired from Green Hill, Inc. as a sales supervisor with 30 years of service. His hobbies included antiquing for country store advertising and Coke-Cola memorabilia. Teddy was well respected for his knowledge and expertise in antiques. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of Salem Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Epperly was preceded in death by two brothers, Carnell Epperly and Tony Epperly; and sister, Helen Amos. Mr. Epperly is survived by his wife, Shirley Sisson Epperly; daughter, Gayle Ferguson and husband, Bill; son, Terry Epperly and wife, Rowena; brother Frankie Epperly; sisters Marie Lawson and Mary Walthall; grandchildren, Jennifer Alleven, Zachary Trolier, Justin Epperly, and Natalie Trolier; and great-granddaughter, Lucy Alleven. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 from the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem with Minister Mike Flinchum officiating and Minister Eric Evans assisting. Interment will follow at East Hill Cemetery. Those not attending the funeral service, but wishing to attend the graveside service should enter by way of Virginia Avenue. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday. The family would like to extend special thanks to Michelle Hall, special caregiver, Missy Keeney, caregiver, and also to Good Samaritan Hospice and Loretta Beemer. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Salem Church of Christ Building Fund or Thailand Mission. on July 11, 2017.4

     James Franklin "Frankie" Epperly On Saturday, June 6, 2020 James Franklin “Frankie” Epperly, 80, of Elliston went home to be with the Lord. There he was reunited with his son, Gregory Epperly and his parents, James and Arlie Epperly. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Frankie Lou Epperly; children, James Epperly, Jr. and his wife Angie; Sabrina Anderson and her husband Allen. Frankie was fortunate to have several grandchildren, Jamie Bryant (Jarith), Matt Epperly (Jessie), Ashley East (Caleb), Joseph Epperly (Halie), and Abigail Anderson; great grandchildren, Gunner and River Epperly. Frankie will be in our hearts forever. He is “gone but never forgotten”.
