Campbell and his wife, Lynn Baker, of New York; a sister, Blanche H. Wiggins of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, Rhonda Joyner and her husband, Jeff, Cathy Whitley and her husband, Scottie, all of Franklin, Kim Billups and her husband, Daryl, of Black Creek, and Sara Coggins and Ryan Coggins, both of Portland, Ore; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Howard Milton Maddrey. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Roy E. DeBrand and the Rev. Sharon E. James officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and suggests that memorials be made to the Franklin Baptist Church Restoration Fund, 208 N. High St., Franklin VA 23851. on September 13, 2000.¹

He was a retired Supervisor with Hercules, Inc. of Covington, and was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge # 1065 of Clifton Forge. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Chappell Campbell in February of 1996. He is survived by a daughter, Valenda Campbell and partner Stephanie Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia; three sons, Bernard M. “Mac” Campbell, Jr. and wife Sarah of Clifton Forge, Daniel G. “Danny” Campbell and partner Juniper Healy of Riner, Virginia, and Paul E. Campbell and partner Stephanie Walter of Newport News, Virginia; a sister Pauline Jones of Clifton Forge; seven grandchildren, Emily Muterspaugh, Catherine Williamson, John Campbell, Maggie Campbell, Elizabeth Campbell, Corey Campbell and Kelsey Campbell; 2 great grandchildren Kylie Muterspaugh and Caleb Muterspaugh; a very special friend Linda Barron of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews. In Keeping with his wishes, his body was cremated. A Private Memorial Interment Service will be conducted in Mountain View Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. However, friends may call anytime at the residence of 1120 Madison Ave, or at the home of Mac and Sarah Campbell, 1310 Forester Road, Clifton Forge.
